As important as this year’s draft is...

Matt Ryan says he is not focusing on contract talks as he appears destined to become the NFL's next $100 million quarterback. The six-year, $66 million contract Ryan signed with Atlanta as a rookie in 1998 expires after the 2013 season. General manager Thomas Dimitroff says the Falcons hope to finalize a new deal with Ryan before the season. Drew Brees, Tony Romo and Joe Flacco...

Are Matt Ryan's Atlanta Falcons Who We Think They Are?

The Atlanta Falcons, it has to be said, did not put up very impressive numbers, last season, other than their 13-3 regular season record: Quaterback Matt Ryan did his part; throwing for 4,719 yards and 32 touchdowns (plus a single rushing TD). His overall passer rating came in at a respectable 99.1. In the passing game, they ranked 6th overall, but they were 29th in rushing and their...

Falcons' Ryan unconcerned about deal

Matt Ryan isn't focusing on contract talks as he appears destined to become the NFL's next $100 million quarterback. The six-year, $66 million contract Ryan signed with Atlanta as a rookie in 2008 expires after the 2013 season. General manager Thomas Dimitroff recently said the Falcons hope to finalize a new deal with Ryan before the season. Ryan said Monday that the timetable...

Matt Ryan Says He’s “Not Really Too Worried” About New Contract

You would think Atlanta Falcons stud quarterback Matt Ryan would feel some type of way about all these $100 million contracts getting passed out and none of them are for him. Ryan watched Joe Flacco and Tony Romo cash in at the onset of the NFL off-season.  Reports suggest that Aaron Rodgers and Matthew Stafford will get big contracts as well. So the question now is, where does...

Report: Falcons looking to trade up from the 30th pick

According to Peter King of SI.com, the Atlanta Falcons are looking to trade up from the 30th overall pick in next week’s draft.Hearing the Falcons are trying to trade up from number 30 in the first round, and not, obviously, for a quarterback.— Peter King (@SI_PeterKing) April 17, 2013I’m not sure which player or position the Falcons are targeting, but they need to get a pass...

Personal Seat Licenses Are Coming to Atlanta

Arthur Blank's new Atlanta Falcons stadium is a go. Blank tells the AJC "The fun starts now, now that we got past the political process." But will the fun start for the fans once the new stadium is built? Sure it will be nice and shiny but how much is it going to cost the fans? PSLs, or personal seat licenses, are an ugly part of the game for the fans. They...

Matt Ryan: I’m Not Worried about a New Contract

This has been the off-season of the quarterback as $100 million deals are being passed out like water after a basketball game. Everyone seems to be getting in on the fun as Lions’ quarterback Matthew Stafford seems to be up next to cash in. Interesting though, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan (who would certainly warrant $100 million [...]

2013 Mock Draft: Atlanta Falcons Pick-by-Pick Predictions

NFL Draft 2013: Perfect For The Atlanta Falcons

When an NFL team has depth at almost all offensive positions, they only need to strategize on one side of the ball. In 2013's NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons have a dream come true because it's defensive star heavy. Their defense will take them to the next level, and they will not be side tracked with other decisions. The offensive side of the ball isn't a concern for...

Atlanta Falcons Draft Outlook: OL

The Falcons offensive line is a bit of a question mark. Especially with the release of RT Tyson Clabo. Presumably Lamar Holmes will play right tackle next year but that leaves the Falcons with a hole at swing/back up left tackle. A hole I assume they will fill in the fourth or fifth round of the draft.  Another position of interest is the guard position. Justin Blalock is...
