It might seem a little early to start talking about possible MVP's after only four games, but it is still fun to speculate.

After the first four games of the season, Matt Ryan has led the Falcons to its first 4-0 start since the 1980's.  He is also the league leader in quarterback rating at an astounding 112.1.  He is second in the league with 11 touchdowns, trailing only Drew Brees.  He is sixth in passing yards at 1,162.  He is second only to Aaron Rodgers with a 69.4 completion percentage.  He has done this while only throwing 2 interceptions so far on the young season.

If you take these stats and multiply them over the final 3/4 of the season, then Matty Ice will finish the season with 44 touchdowns, 4,648 passing yards and only 8 interceptions.  These totals would greatly surpass his personal best as well as many other Falcon records along the way.

But what makes Matt Ryan's season that much better is how he has won as well has who he has beaten so far.  In the first game he and the Falcons blew out the Kansas City Chiefs while completing over 74 percent of his passes for 299 yards and 3 touchdowns.  He also added a rushing touchdown just for kicks.  His second game saw him match-up against the great Peyton Manning and the Broncos on Monday Night Football.

Even though Manning finished with more yards, Ryan had the better game and walked off the field a winner on national television.  The third game this season saw Matty Ice and the Falcons travel to the West Coast to Face the Philip Rivers led Chargers.  In this game, Ryan through 3 more touchdowns and again completed 75 percent of his passes.  He did all this without playing much in the fourth quarter.

His most exciting game so far came this past Sunday against the NFC South rival Panthers.  Ryan had a solid game with over 360 yards passing and three touchdowns.  But his best moment came with less than a minute left in the game and the ball at their own 1 yard line.  This completion to Roddy White for 59 yards absolutely deflated the Panthers and their defense.  This pass led to the game-winning field goal by Matt Bryant and added to his legacy as a clutch Quarterback and and elite Quarterback.

Another aspect that adds to his season is the fact that the running game as not been what it had been in previous years.  Before the Panthers game, Michael Turner had not eclipsed the 100 yard mark and had only 2 rushing touchdowns.  Before this most recent game, the Falcons had only averaged 90 yards rushing per game.  Thus making the majority of the offense going through Ryan and the Passing game.

If Ryan can continue at this pace, he should definitely be the front-runner for Offensive MVP and a possible Super Bowl appearance.
