New acquisition John McCargo participated in this morning's Bucs practice at One Buc Place, and he's hoping it was the start of something new.
Signing McCargo, a free agent inked Saturday to augment the depth on the defensive line, became necessary because the defensive tackle position has been beset by injuries in the past couple of weeks. With reserve defensive tackle E.J. Wilson being placed on injured reserve with an Achilles injury and with Brian Price (pelvis) and Roy Miller (knee) still sidelined, the Bucs had an obvious need.
That worked in McCargo's favor. The Bills' 2006 first-round pick has been seeking a chance to revive his career, and the Bucs will give him that opportunity.
