It was one of those days when just about everything went the way an Eagles fan would want it to go....
Well, almost everything....
First, allow me to congratulate our loyal Eagles Eye correspondent, "Eagle Nut", who suggested in our previous game-plan discussion that McNabb should "stretch out the field" early with a deep pattern to DeSean Jackson or Jeremy Maclin (starting in place of the injured Kevin Curtis at WR), with the idea of, completed or not, the long pass would immediately dictate the closeness of coverage by Tampa Bay on intermediate and short routes for the remainder of the game.
Well, Marty Mornhinweg, OC of the Eagles, must be reading this column, because that's exactly what the Eagles did on their second possession of the game. The result?----a 51-yard TD strike from McNabb to Jeremy Maclin in the Bucs' end-zone, giving the Eagles a 7-0 lead in the opening minutes of play which they would never relinquish.
