Cornerback Evan Oglesby has returned to the Miami Dolphins’ 53-man roster after rehabbing a serious ankle injury suffered early in training camp.
He received an injury settlement at the time that made him ineligible to return to the Dolphins for the season’s first seven weeks. As soon as that time frame passed, the Dolphins brought back a player who has added value on special teams.
Oglesby, a fifth-year pro out of North Alabama, spent time with the Dolphins late last season, even making the active roster for Game 13 at Jacksonville.
It was not immediately clear who had been cut loose to make room for Oglesby, who has 37 games of NFL experience, including stops with the Ravens and Cowboys.
Rookie cornerback Nolan Carroll left Sunday’s game with a left ankle injury that wasn’t deemed serious, according to a source and to Carroll himself.
