On Sunday, we are finally going to see what Dion Jordan is made of.The Miami Herald is reporting that Jordan, the third pick in April’s Draft, will see a significant amount of playing time against the Cleveland Browns. That, hopefully, will be a great thing for the Dolphins and a sad sight for their opponent.“He’s going to have a significant role in the game plan this week, I guarantee you that,” Dolphins defensive coordinator, Kevin Coyle, told reporters.Jordan was a surprise pick of the Fins, who were thought to be in the market for offensive line help this offseason. The team took care of that latter in the draft (Dallas Thomas) and through free agency (Tyson Clabo). Now, with an injury behind him, it’s time for all of south Florida and the NFL to see what Jordan can do.“Coyle wouldn’t say what that role would be, for competitive reasons. But with Olivier Vernon locked in as the starting defensive end opposite Cameron Wake, most surmise Jordan will be used as a situational pass-rusher,” the report stated. It also would not be a surprise to see the rookie on special teams as he has been working with the unit this week.Jordan missed the last three preseason games after again hurting his surgically-repaired shoulder. It was an injury he suffered while in his junior season at Oregon.Cleveland’s offense figures to be better this season under new head coach Rob Chudzinski and offensive coordinator, Norv Turner.Brandon Weeden, the second-year passer in this offense (the other quarterback taken in the first round of last year’s draft), has been a welcomed surprise this offseason and in training camp and preseason action. Turner has a lot to do with that.Trent Richardson has been steady and figures to get the lionshare of the running load this season. Injuries last season limited him to 950 yards on the ground. The Browns’ offense was 25th in the league last season and only scored 18.9 points per game.In other news…According to Andy Kent of miamidolphins.com, Rookie cornerbacks Will Davis (toe) and Jamar Taylor (groin) along with third-string quarterback Pat Devlin (groin) are officially out for Sunday’s game and did not practice today. Cornerback Dimitri Patterson (ankle) was limited today and is listed as questionable.Rookie tight end Dion Sims (groin) was upgraded to probable and practiced in full after being limited all week. Linebacker Jonathan Freeny (shoulder), rookie defensive end Dion Jordan (shoulder), defensive end Vaughn Martin (ankle) and safety Jimmy Wilson (hamstring) are all probable and practiced in full.
