(AP Photo/ Alfred Konuwa) The Arizona Cardinals are now entering their 5th day of training camp, with a  plethora of  surprises already unwinding.  Michael Floyd’s performance  in training camp  has already begun to turn heads around the valley.  As he enters  his 3rd season with the Cardinals, Floyd has emerged as a  strong  receiving target  for quarterback Carson Palmer. Last season he  improved upon a rather disappointing 2012 rookie campaign with a breakout performance. Floyd hauled in  1,041 yard receptions, while also eclipsing  fellow receiver Larry Fitzgerald’s 954 receptions. On Tuesday, Floyd continued  to display signs of  progression.  After just one play, he managed to get a step ahead of  cornerback Patrick Peterson, for a touchdown that sailed just beyond Peterson’s grasp.  Later in the afternoon, Floyd  hauled in another touchdown pass over  the head of cornerback Justin Bethel.  He received lots of  praise from his  quarterback earlier in the afternoon  for his stature and  incredible ability to overpower cornerbacks. There is no debating Michael Floyd’s level of talent, and he certainly seems to be outperforming the  competition. It’s  encouraging  news for Cardinals fans that are hoping for a big season.  It’s what the Cardinals envisioned when they made Floyd their first selection at 13,  in 2012.
