Coach Ken Whisenhunt confirmed Monday that Michael Floyd was benched in Week 11 for making two on-field errors. Floyd initially came out of a pass route wrong, leading to an incompletion. He was benched plays later for lining up in the incorrect spot. “You have to create urgency,” Whisenhunt said, explaining the benching. Floyd has talent to be a down-the-road fantasy contributor, but he’s well off the 2012 radar.
Floyd has been a huge disapointment this season for the Cardinals. It didn’t help that when John Skelton went down, Ryan Lindley couldn’t throw to save his life. Floyd needs to get his head out of his butt if he wants to succeed in the NFL. Justin Blackmon needed that come to Jesus meeting and it looked like it worked. Maybe Floyd should give J-Black a call.
