Michael Vick had enough to worry about Monday night after the Eagles lost their fourth game in a row, with Vick throwing an interception and getting sacked seven times.
But after the game, it got worse. Vick found out that his poor night had been accompanied by a Twitter rant by none other than his younger brother, Marcus Vick.
Marcus Vick unleashed a torrent of tweets, blaming Michael Vick’s struggles at quarterback on the Eagles’ offensive line and saying the elder Vick wanted to be traded out of Philadelphia. Those are big words — especially if they’re coming from a player’s brother, who may have the inside track on such things.
Michael Vick quickly went into damage control after the game when he heard what Marcus Vick had been up to.
“You say he tweeted that during the game?” Vick said, according to profootballtalk.com. “Sorry, I’m not aware of that. That’s something that I’m really going to have to address once I leave here.”
Vick also tried to hush the talk of him wanting a trade, a demand that would only complicate an Eagles season that has seen defensive coordinator Juan Castillo fired, head coach Andy Reid get an ultimate to win or else, and Vick receive criticism every week for not being able to move his team forward.
“[We're] out there fighting as hard as we can, giving it everything we’ve got,” Vick said. “That’s certainly not the case. Not the case here. I love each and every guy in that locker room, and if I can make every play right, I would. I know they would do the same. So that’s certainly not the case.”
Marcus Vick’s little explosion just adds to the list of concerns Michael Vick has to take care of, but still, it has to be nice having someone on his side — even if it’s the kid brother.
