In his prime, Michael Vick was the ultimate weapon, a threat to take off in the open and no chance to catch him in 2006. However, with his age creeping up on him (32) and having taken a tremendous amount of punishment, one would think Vick would like the comfy confines of a well protected pocket. Not the case says Vick, who agreed to a one year deal with the Eagles to compete against Nick Foles for the starter job. He feels he still has the legs to get it done via ground, but not for getting short first downs, he’s talking about another 1,000 yard season. “In 2006 I ran for 1,000 yards — and it wasn’t hard,” Vick said. “I feel like I still can do that,” Vick said, via Mike and Mike in the Morning. “I could tell that he was innovative, and that’s what it’s all about in this league,” Vick said. “You have to be able to change up from week to week and I think Chip will be able to do that. I think I can handle that.” “Once you start trying not to get hurt, that’s when you get hurt,” Vick said. “I think I have to go out, play lights-out football, and not worry about getting hurt.”   var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
