DAVIE, Fla. -- The Miami Dolphins locked up one of their defensive stalwarts Tuesday. It sounds like one of their top offensive players won't be a hard sell when the time comes.
The Dolphins signed safety Reshad Jones to a four-year, 30 million contract extension. He's now under contract through the 2017 season.
Miami center Mike Pouncey took special note of the signing since he and Jones have the same agent in Joel Segal. Pouncey becomes a free agent after next season, but it wouldn't be a surprise if the Dolphins look to lock up Pouncey long term before he steps on the field in 2014.
It might not be hard.
"I was drafted here. This is where my family lives," Pouncey, who attended high school in Lakeland, Fla., and starred at the University of Florida, told FOX Sports Florida at Miami's training camp. "So, obviously, I want to be a Dolphin for my whole career. ... This is exactly where I want to be."
That's got to be good news for the Dol...
