From Helmet2Helmet:

Yes, you read that correctly.

In the midst of several team-wide scuffles and shoving matches — par for the course this time of year — Patriots coach Bill Belichick showed his rare softer side, kissing the elbow of banged-up tight end Aaron Hernandez during Wednesday night’s training camp practice.

(Still rubbing your eyes in disbelief? Feast them on the photo.)

While participating in 7-on-7 drills, Hernandez got tangled up and hit the turf, favoring his left elbow. After a bit of complaining, he got his coach to make the boo-boo all better.

“I had a little bruise on my elbow and I was whining about it, and he was just showing me the love of a father figure and he gave me a kiss on the elbow,” Hernandez told the Boston Globe.

Evidently, it was well-received.

“No, I didn’t ask him (to make it better),” he said, smiling. “I damn sure liked it though. Felt some love.”

A father of three children, Belichick is obviously in tune with his parental side and knows a simple smooch sometimes is a cure-all. Kudos to Belichick — he of the stoic, usually emotionless nature — for proving he is, in fact, human after all.

We're in a competitive camp," Belichick said. "It's part of football. I don&...

One man's injury is another man's opportunity.
