Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler made headlines at the start of the season when he went off on his left tackle J’Marcus Webb, throwing a tantrum and shoving him on the sidelines.

Cutler has been ripped a lot this season for being a bad teammate, but made things better on Sunday when he tied Webb’s shoe after he struggled when it fell off during a run play.

Cutler did it like a fatherly figure, as he does also have an infant son.

“I loosened it and tied it. I guess my fatherly instincts are kicking in a little bit,” Cutler told ESPNChicago.com after the game. “I was trying to keep the drive going so we didn’t have to burn a timeout, but we burned one anyway apparently.”

The Bears ended up winning the game, however, 28-10 over the Minnesota Vikings.

Jay Cutler Is Everything the Bears Are Looking for in a Quarterback, Which Doesn’t Need to Be Saying Much

It’s easy to dislike Jay Cutler. He, the Chicago quarterback of perpetual grumpiness (although Smokin’ Jay Cutler was magical), completely great or completely terrible performances, and just enough talent and underachieving to make someone unhappy, has plenty of critics. This year, he’s been at it again. He feuded with coaches on the sideline. He called out teammates (also...
