During the New York Jets Thanksgiving day massacre, superfan and possibly the most famous fan in all of sports, Fireman Ed saw enough. Fireman Ed aka Ed Anzalone could not take the debacle that took place against the hated New England Patriots during the second quarter. The Patriots' 35 second quarter points are now fourth all-time for most points scored in a quarter. That probably would make even though most optimistic fan want to leave. The Patriots went on to win 49-19 in the nightcap of the Thanksgiving day games.

According to ESPN New York:

Fireman Ed, aka Ed Anzalone, apparently couldn’t take the debacle of a second quarter and left at the half. That is according to Twitter users who say they sat in his section. Anzalone’s own Twitter account was deactivated during the game as well. Not a banner night for the team, and not for an icon of a New York Jets fan either.

Former nose tackle and analyst Kris Jenkins noticed. “Fireman Ed deleted his account?” Jenkins tweeted. “Wow thought he was a diehard fan? Guess he went back to the Dolphins.”

  • Hey man, I'm a Redskins fan too thanks to an ex-boyfriend that has left me with this symptom LOL and I'm a jets fan as well (CRAZY JETS FAN), but I'm diehard for both of them. I took to to twitter yesterday just like the rest of #jetsnation and ranted and raved, took my Sanchez jersey off just as I did my Moss jersey weeks ago and threw it on the ground becuase I was angry, but I'll tell you what, come next sunday, I'll have both of them on again. I'll never leave. Through the good or the bad, buddy like you said. Ed, that dude, well, I know he was frustrated, but if you're a fan, you're a fan. Nothing else to be said.   • I too have been a fan since the boston pats. While I am by no means denying Toms greatness, In bill I trust. He won 11 games with Cassel. Just tryin to put your mind at ease for when Tom leaves in 3 years. Lets not forget he also had a lot to do with 2 championship that had Hostetler and Simms at QB(thats amazing).     When I think of famous NFL fans I picture the Cleveland fan with the dog mask, the loons in Oakland's black hole, the space alien guy for Carolina, the dude that wears the barrel and suspenders at Denver games, or the 10-15 thousand Steeler fans who show up at opponents stadiums for away games.

  • Being a fellow firefighter, Ed has heart and passion for his Jets. But at this event, could not stomach anymore the mental breakdown that is known as N.Y. 2012 Jets. He has seen his share of traumas and letdowns. But last night, even one of New York's finest, had to walk away for awhile. If any one questions his loyalty or love for N.Y.   • It should happen more often. The NFL has too many teams which spreads out the talent to the point we get many crappy games like this. And these morons think that opening up Europe is the next step. Think again. The European league folded. There are 33 NFL teams but there is only enough A+ talent for 18-20. This is the problem, This is why when we go to a game we pay ridiculous prices for tickets and parking, hot dogs and beer and end up bored to death. It used to be fun. Now its a small fortune for a family to even go to a game. Most of these players woke up on 3rd base and thought they hit a triple. They are not hungry. They are not focused. This is not professional football as I remember it.

I've been a Redskins fan since 1953 and I've been thru some bad times but never thought of leaving them. I just like following them and will always cheer them on.
