hmmm....you don't think people care about what one of the greatest QB's of all time that played for the Jets has to say about his former team? I think you are a little butt hurt and need to re-evaluate.

He really wasn't all that great. He's in the Hall of Fame alright, though. Look him up under "flamboyant playas."

Really TWizzz? Your name should be Twit. Namath won a Superbowl, you clown! Mark Sanchez will never win one because he isn't intelligent! In fact, he sounds and plays like he's completely clueless! If the Jets had a real QB in Sanchez's first two seasons, the Jets would have won both Superbowls, even with a clueless Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator.

Sanchez must be fired along with Rex Ryan and their defensive and offensive coordinators. It's amazing how one city can have two of the same pathetic teams in two different sports. Yes, I'm talking about the NY Mets too. Bring back Bill Parcells somehow, please!

I know Namath is a hero to all you jet fans, but really, that guy is the most overrated QB of all time. He got in the Hall for one reason and one reason only, he guaranteed a win, and the win led to a consolidation of the AFL and NFL. In actuality, he has done nothing better than what Trent Dilfer did. His lifetime stats are very bad. He barely completed 50% of his passes. He threw 47 more interceptions than he did TDs. His QB rating was about a 65. Even Dilfer had better lifetime stats and everyone would laugh if his name came up on a ballot. Joe is simply living in the past and has one huge alcohol problem. It's really sad to see. I know the game has changed, but he would be dead last in QB stats this season. There were many NFL QBs of his era that were much much better. Jurgensen, Dawson, Staubach, Unitas, Tarkenton,Starr, Griese, Stabler, Kilmer Bradshaw, Manning, Hart, Landry, etc. were all better players. Part of it was his knees, but even before they became a big issue, he really wasn't all that impressive, goatees and mink coats aside.

I agree, if he's not an advisor for the team or with the front office, who gives **** about his opinion.

Joe N was the man in the day. When he came to town, everyone wanted to go see him. Nope, Sanchez is no Namath ... never will be .... never.

Joe doesn't care much for Tim Tebow either ....I feel bad for TT. I think the Denver Def was badly under rated last year but TT gave Denver excellent press. The Jets need some good press ... I don't know ... McElroy should play at a minimum at this point, no harm no foul ... they have nothing to lose.

Joe Namath had more talent as a QB in his little finger than Sanchez will ever have is his entire body! Listen, I grew up watching Namath, and not only did he ever have the best drop back and release technique, he was a leader of the team both on and off the field. Plus, he brought an element of fun to the game that was always lacking. Style, edginess, but mostly football talent is what I remember of him. Sanchez could never measure up to Namath both on the field and off. Sanchez would be lucky if he ever got the chance to sniff Broadway Joe's jock strap! Bottoms up, Joe! You deserve it!

Last year Tebow was playing in the playoffs while Sanchez was watching him on TV, but Tebow is sitting the bench?

Greatness takes many forms;in the case of Joe Willie, he was great on and off the field. He "made" the NY Jets as a team, then went out and kicked Johnny Unitas' butt. Don't count out Joe, he'll always be a great one. Yeah, he has a little bit of a drinking problem, but none of us is perfect, except you of course.

New York Jets, NFL TEAM!!!! The key word here is team. You play, win and lose as a team. Having one great player does not define the team nor does one faltering player define a team. Professinal or not, emotion still dictates a teams perfomance ( Yes talent helps)even at this level. The bottom line is that Sanchez is not alone, people are just looking for a place to put blame. If the line gives enough time and protects even the commisioner could play QB. Team, team, team. Together we stand devided we fall, as a team!!!!!!!!! Nope, don't care for Jet's or Sanchez, just an observation from one armchair quarterback.

Mark Sanchez has been to two AFC title games and threw for 301 yards agaisn't the Patriots on Thanksgiving day. Mark is not washed up nor is he a lazy QB as some might suggest. I think the collaspe of the Jets happened with the arrival of Tebow. The media helped start the collapse of the Jets in their perception of Tebow replacing Sanchez even before the season started. The morale of the clubhouse is whats in disarry and it can be seen on the field.Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the beating the Jets took, being a Patriots fan and all.

Whats their excuse for last year? Tebow wasnt there yet. They're just not a good team. And don't forget that one of those playoff appearances for Sanchez was a gift from Peyton and the Colts.

RJWetmore, you have been missing the last four seasons if you don't think Sanchez should take much of the blame. The QB is the leader of the team. The defense and offense can only go out on the field and perform well so many times until they have given up and lost hope in their QB to lead the team. Sanchez simply makes too many huge mistakes that would not occur with an intelligent QB.

As for Sanchez going to two Chanpionship games, he only got there due to his great defense and offensive players, which covered up Mark's terrible mistakes. If you remember, Mark would throw at least two to three interceptions per game. And the coaches had to limit his throwing plays to control him. This has only gotten worse now that the Jets cannot coverup his mistakes due to not having a great defense nor offensive any more. As for him passing for 301 yards on Thursday, it was after they were down by 28 points already. The Patriots just played loose with their defense knowing that the Jets were finished. A real QB would have passed for much more and scored a lot more points in that situation. When your QB throws a costly pick in the beginning of the game when your team is about to score, it demoralizes the team because this keeps happening time and time again with Sanchez. He then blows a play by forgetting that it wasn't a handoff that he called and proceeds to run like a chicken without a head into the bottom of one of the biggiest guys on his team. Seriously? Then fumbles the ball and the Patriots score a TD. I mean, they say a picture paints a thousand words, well that play paints one big word and that's "CLUELESS!" This is the END for Mark Sanchez.

Namath was lucky to been in the middle of the battle between the AFL and the NFL, that put his stock as a mediocre quarterback much higher than it should have been. He was also lucky to have Howard Cossell as his lead cheerleader. Namath's "best" year as a QB was 1967 with a 52.5 rating, 26 touchdowns and 28 interceptions. He was average at best and in todays NFL he would be a third string backup QB. Sad that he a 70 year old drunk!
