Rolando McClain was the No. 8 overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders. You may remember him from his college days, where he was an All-American and a member of the 2010 national championship-winning Alabama Crimson Tide.

On the field, McClain has been a disappointment this season for the highly disappointing 3-8 Raiders. On Wednesday, the linebacker didn't practice for the Raiders due to "team-related issues," according to Oakland head coach Dennis Allen. And later in the day, McClain wrote on his Facebook wall that he's "officially no longer an Oakland Raider", that he'd like to be "anywhere besides here (Oakland)", and that he's "looking forward to playing for an actual 'team'":

As you can see in the tweets from NFL.com/NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, McClain is apparently still on the Raiders' roster, but McClain doesn't see that being the case for long. And he clearly doesn't want that to be the case, anyway.

Just what the Raiders need right now, right? Yikes.

This looks very bad for the Raiders with one of their players basically saying that the Raiders are not a 'team'. That could be in reference to a number of things with the players, coaching staff, and front office, but whatever the case, it doesn't look good for a struggling 3-8 team.

Oakland Raiders: Just What Happened With Rolando McClain?

When Rolando McClain was holding up the BCS National Championship trophy back in January of 2010, I thought there was no way this kid wasn’t going to be a stud at the next level. Apparently, I wasn’t the only one who felt that way as all of the draft experts had him as a top ten pick and easily the best linebacker in the draft. But then, he was drafted by the Oakland Raiders...

Rolando McClain is still an Oakland Raider

Last night ESPN’s Ed Werder reported that the Raiders were going to release linebacker Rolando McClain after his heated argument with head coach Dennis Allen. Right now, I’m not so sure that the Raiders will release McClain. Today Allen told the media that McClain was advised to not attend practice and he complied.  You would think that if they were going to released  him,...

Don't bother asking Bill Belichick a soccer question

Don’t ask Bill Belichick — head coach of the New England Patriots — his opinion on Jermaine Jones signing with the New England Revolution. Jeff Fisher goes on the attack, slams ESPN, Josina Anderson

NFL head coaches tend to have a relationship with their players that extend to off the football field themselves. They give off-field advice, tutor them on the issues that are presented to players in the real world and get offensive when players are unfarily scrutinized by the media and skeptics.  This is exactly what St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher did in defense of rookie...

The Minnesota Vikings are heading into yet another season where running back Adrian Peterson is expected to be one of the top backs in the league. Needless to say, he has put up big numbers on a Vikings’ offense that hasn’t had a good quarterback...
