From NESN:

This is one brave pigeon.

We don’t have a lot of context for this video, but it comes from this past Sunday’s 15-0 Oakland Raiders win over the Kansas City Chiefs. For about the last seven minutes of the first half (in real time, not game time), this bird decided to crash the action, refusing to leave the playing surface despite being nearly trampled by players and cheerleaders multiple times — at one point even standing between linebackers as the Raiders took a snap. It was eventually collected by stadium grounds crew at halftime.

Maybe he just wanted a better view of one of the NFL’s most historic rivalries?

Oakland Raiders stand behind their offensive system: “When you believe in something and you stick to it”

2012 hasn’t been the model of greatness for the Oakland Raiders; the motto “just win baby,’” is replaced with “just try to win.” In Dennis Allen’s first year as the Raiders Head Coach, he’s had to take on the previous decisions on personnel and evaluating players looking towards the future. Installing a new offense means the team needs to have the correct personnel...

Raiders RB Goodson eage to face former team

Oakland Raiders running back Mike Goodson is looking forward to playing in Carolina for the first time since being traded by the Panthers in the offseason. He just doesn't know what type of reception to expect. Goodson spent his first three NFL seasons with Carolina, still owns property there and routinely talks to some of his former teammates. Even Panthers coach Ron Rivera...

Oakland Raiders’ Success in Running Game Translates to Wins

On Sunday, the Oakland Raiders rushed for a season high 203 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs in a 15-0 win. All season when the Raiders have rushed the ball successfully, it has translated into victories. Raiders hope to become consistent with another win

The longest losing streak since an 11-game run in 2006 and 2007 is over, with the Oakland Raiders beating the Kansas City Chiefs 15-0 and having only one thing on their minds. Winning again. The Raiders are 4-10, with dreams of their first winning season tossed overboard three games ago. The re-adjusted goal of a third consecutive 8-8 season quickly followed, buried in an avalanche...

Pigeon puts on show during Raiders-Chiefs tilt

When the Chiefs and Raiders play in Oakland, the last place you want to be is in the stands if you are a Chiefs fan. This pigeon got that message loud and clear and did everything it possibly could for seven-plus minutes to stay on the field and away from the ‘Black Hole.’ Eventually the pigeon was caught and escorted off the field, but he put up one heck of a protest. [The...

Sebastian Janikowski = Vanderjacked

In the kicking world there is only one Big Polish Boot and since 2000 he has owned the Bay Area! On Sunday Sebas went nuts for the Raiders. He kicked 5 field goals in a 15-0 win over the woeful Chiefs. His day included 2 from over 50 yards! He is having a huge year for a bad team but unlike the MVP voting, Straitpinkie doesn’t care! The drunken idiot is in the running for the...

Raiders use the force, shut down Chiefs

It's a beautiful thing when our team wins, eh Nation? Time and time again, we have not seen our Oakland Raider scheme execute in a manner we would like it to. Week after week, we wonder what type of players we have on our team; pondering which players should stay and which players should leave the facility as quickly as the Falcon clears Space. So, it is kind...

Raiders 15, Chiefs 0

OAKLAND -- Oakland Raiders kicker Sebastian Janikowski made five field goals Sunday at the O.co Coliseum, but one would have been enough to beat the Kansas City Chiefs. In their final home game of the season, the Raiders beat Kansas City 15-0, recording their first shutout since Dec. 28, 2002, when they beat the Chiefs 24-0 at the Coliseum. The Raiders (4-10) snapped a six-game...

Yankees bench Derek Jeter

Things have hit rock bottom in the Bronx.  In what should be a celebratory month of Derek Jeter‘s career (and potential final postseason appearance), the New York Yankees are just about out of options to make the playoffs.  One last option was exercised today.  Bench Derek Jeter.  Not demote him out of the number two spot.  Not give him a day of rest.  Benched.  The American...

After accepting a 25-game suspension for testing positive for Adderall, Chris Davis will be away from the Baltimore Orioles for the immediate future. Colin Kaepernick became the first player in NFL history to be flagged for using “inappropriate language” on Sunday night. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback was handed the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty after throwing an interception in the fourth quarter, and there was speculation that the flag was thrown because he used the N-word. The New York Jets could have made a game-tying touchdown in the match against the Packers, however, a timeout error of course made the situation complicated for the Jets, as usual.
