Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen is looking for Denarius Moore to step up and be their number one receiver this coming season. /”He’s a guy that we’re counting on being our No. 1 receiver,” Allen said of Moore via the Contra Costa Times. “But we need all those guys. … At the end of the day, we’ll have five, maybe six receivers that have a chance to help this football team.” Moore had a solid season in 2012 with over 50 receptions and 700 yards receiving.  The biggest problem for the Raiders is trying to figure out who their quarterback will be.  I’m having a hard time convincing myself that Matt Flynn, Tyler Wilson or Terrelle Pryor can be upgrade over Carson Palmer. State of the Nation: A Look at the Oakland Raiders’ Quarterback Situation

Coming off a disastrous season in which pretty much every player played terribly it came as a mild surprise that the Oakland Raiders got rid of Carson Palmer. Although the perennial loser Palmer once again led an NFL team into the gutter, he was one of the top performing players on the Raiders. General manager Reggie McKenzie decided to pull the plug on the Palmer era because Palmer...

Raiders Punter Marquette King nails an amazing 89 yard punt in air (Video)

Losing Shane Lechler might sting for some Raiders fans, but rest assure you should be happy. Your punter Marquette King is a beast. While he is in competition right now with Chris Kluwe, King is practicing to break records. At Kohl’s Kicking Camp King nailed this 89 yard punt in the air. This is a must see. I see a record being broken soon in the NFL.

Dennis Allen feels good about his team’s offseason: ‘I like this football team’

Oakland Raiders coach Dennis Allen doesn’t want to hear what the experts are saying about his team. The Raiders wrapped up their three day minicamp and Allen thinks the team has worked hard and made a lot of progress. There’s only so much a coach can find out with ‘football in shorts,’ but it sets the depth chart for training camp. He also got a clear idea of what each...

Raiders sign 3rd rounder Sio Moore

The Oakland Raiders announced today that they’ve signed rookie third round pick, linebacker Sio Moore. Moore (6-1, 240), a linebacker out of Connecticut, was selected 66th overall by the Raiders in April. He played in 41 games with 31 starts at UConn, and garnered first-team All-Big East Conference honors twice during his collegiate career. As a senior, Moore ranked fourth on...

Undrafted Rookie Wide Receiver Conner Vernon Will Have Big Impact for Oakland Raiders

It looks like Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie has found another impact undrafted free agent this year in Conner Vernon. The 6-foot wide receiver out of Duke was the ACC’s all-time leader in both reception and receiving yards, which proves that Vernon has what it takes to become a go-to receiver. Vernon is also a high character guy who puts in his fair share...

Can Rashad Jennings Regain His Old Form With Oakland Raiders?

Rashad Jennings Twitter Page (@RashadJennings) Coming into every season the last five years, Oakland Raiders’ fans could expect two things; getting plenty of penalty flags thrown against them and Darren McFadden going down to injury. For the first few seasons of McFadden’s career he was backed up by Michael Bush who could easily replace McFadden’s production whenever he went...

Sebastian Janikowski believes he can play 7 or 8 more years

Sebastian Janikowski has long been one of the NFL’s best and most consistent kickers. Janikowski is at the age of 35 and still believes he has many years to go, in fact he believes he has 7-8 more years left in him. “I would love to stay here and finish my career,” he said. “This is where I started and where I would like to finish. I can go seven or eight years. If I stay...

Oakland Raiders Tight End David Ausberry Is Poised For A Breakout Season

With the departure of Brandon Myers in free agency, one of the Oakland Raiders four tight ends must step up this season. While the Raiders added two promising tight ends Mychal Rivera and Nick Kasa in the draft, veteran David Ausberry looks like he will be the starter on week one. The 6’4 245 pound Ausberry was a seldom used wide receiver at USC but his big body and 4.48 40...

Chris Kluwe, Donte Stallworth Among Players Featured on NFLPA LGBT-Themed T-Shirts (Photo)

Much like the trend that brought Will & Grace and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy to popular culture in the late ’90s, it seems that LGBT-themed clothing has become all the rage in the sports world. Just Tuesday, we brought you the story of Nike’s LGBT rainbow sneakers. June represents LGBT pride month, and to celebrate the NFL Players Association has released a line of seven...

Bucs sign wide receiver Derek Hagan

Bucs general manager Mark Dominik continues to make moves to bring in competition — or depth — to the Bucs roster. Today, on WFLA News Channel 8, Dominik announced the signing of wide receiver Derek Hagan. Mark Dominik is even breaking news on WFLA-TV right now – he says the Bucs have signed WR Derek Hagan. — Tampa Bay Buccaneers (@TBBuccaneers) June 13, 2013 Hagan is a seven...

The Oakland Raiders Should Not Sign Willis McGahee

Now that the hated Denver Broncos have released pro-bowl running back Willis McGahee, football pundits have put the Oakland Raiders as a prime destination for the veteran running back. In theory, McGahee would be a perfect complement to oft-injured running back Darren McFadden. McGahee would be a huge upgrade over penciled in number-two running back Rashad Jennings. There are two...

Terrelle Pryor continues to look bad this offseason

As much as some Raiders fans want Terrelle Pryor to be their starting quarterback this season, I don’t see it happening.  During OTA’s he was very unimpressive and now during minicamp he’s still having trouble throwing the football. Terrelle Pryor continues to not show much improvement … wobbly, inaccurate passes — Vic Tafur (@VicTafur) June 11, 2013 You might think to...

Raiders’ passing offense isn’t doing so well

Tuesday was the first day of Raiders mandatory minicamp, so let’s check in on the offense to see how it’s doing. Terrelle Pryor throws a quick pass to a receiver that had no idea the ball was coming. Someone got the play wrong. — Steve Corkran (@CorkOnTheNFL) June 11, 2013 Flynn's throw for Moore, wide of the mark. Incomplete. — Steve Corkran (@CorkOnTheNFL) June 11...
