Paul Kruger taunted the Broncos after his Ravens beat them in the playoffs on Saturday.

The Baltimore DE/LB tweeted after his team’s 38-35, two-overtime win that Denver would have been better off keeping Tim Tebow at quarterback instead of signing Peyton Manning:

Kruger’s tweet, which he later deleted, was in reference to Denver’s controversial decision to trade Tebow and replace him with Manning after last season. Tebow became the Broncos’ starter in Week 7 last season and the team went 7-4 under his leadership. They went 8-8, reached the playoffs, and beat the Steelers in the wild-card round.

Despite Tebow’s improbable success, team executive John Elway never fully seemed to believe in the young quarterback. Even after Tebow helped the Broncos win a playoff game, Elway opted for the future Hall of Famer instead.

Most rational fans wouldn’t deny that Elway made the best decision for his team after seeing how well the Broncos played this season. That makes me wonder if Kruger was being sarcastic or serious with his tweet.

Kruger had three tackles and recovered Manning’s fumble during the game, so maybe his implication is that Tebow wouldn’t have given up the ball. Or maybe he was just trying to get under the skin of the team he just beat.

What we do know is that Tim Tebow’s brother probably agrees with him.

NFL Playoffs: Saturday's Divisional Round Prediction: Ravens-Broncos

Baltimore Ravens at Denver Broncos  The Broncos are the favorites in this one, not only because of their record but also because they have a decided advantage at home.  The Broncos are 7-1 at home and the Ravens haven been mediocre on the road as their 4-4 record indicates.  What is worse for the Ravens is that Joe Flacco's quarterback rating drops nearly 25 points when he...

Broncos, Seahawks: Nightmare at the 31-second mark

When you think about it, 31-seconds is not a lot of time. Most commercials run about 30 seconds. “Wait a minute,” is composed of two 30-second halves. But, as we know, 31-seconds can last an eternity, just ask Peyton Manning and Russell Wilson. Both teams were 31 seconds from victory and advancing to their conference championship game. But 31-seconds can be an eternity in the...

Protecting Peyton: Yes, the Denver Broncos are eliminated… but lets put the legacy talk in perspective

The morning after the Baltimore Ravens came from behind to beat the top seeded Broncos at home the discussion isn’t about Joe Flacco’s impressive run of recent playoff success; nor is it about Denver’s interesting clock management decisions that came back to haunt them, it is centered on Peyton Manning’s legacy - but disparaging the quarterback is misguided...
