Last Friday, before the Baltimore Ravens dispatched the Denver Broncos in a thrilling double-overtime victory in the AFC Divisional Playoffs on Saturday, the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel paid tribute to the longtime Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis by presenting a laser light show on the front of the building.
Beginning with his No. 52 flashing on the building’s facade and finishing with a re-creation of his patented pregame dance, the show was splashed across 15 floors of the hotel in order to honor the great player as he enters into the homestretch before his ultimate retirement at the end of the postseason.
According to Baltimore’s FOX 45, the show started at 5:30 p.m. and continued until 9 p.m. I can only imagine what in the world folks staying in those 15 floors were thinking as they tried to relax while multicolored lights from a 15-story laser light show bounced around their room for 3 1/2 hours. Must have been a real treat if any of those people were trying to get some shuteye. Unless some of those same people are into this sort of thing and were left wondering why they could see a laser light show but couldn’t hear a track from Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” album being played.
