TEAMS: Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Jets, New York Giants
Via NESN:

The Steelers are already set to start veteran quarterback Charlie Batch this weekend due to Ben Roethlisberger and Byron Leftwich‘s injuries, and now they may have another familiar face returning.
Pittsburgh is bringing Plaxico Burress in for a work out on Tuesday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Burress started his career with the Steelers in 2000 as the No. 8 overall pick in the NFL draft. Burress last played for Pittsburgh in 2004 before signing with the New York Giants.
Burress played last season for the New York Jets, where he caught 45 passes for 612 yards and eight touchdowns. He missed the 2009 and 2010 NFL seasons while serving almost two years in prison for accidentally shooting himself in the leg at a night club. Burress worked out for the Patriots before the 2012 season, but left without a contract. The Jets did not want to bring back Burress this season because they thought he was detrimental to Mark Sanchez‘s development, according to Seth Walder of the New York Daily News.
Burress and Batch were teammates in Pittsburgh from 2002 to 2004. There is no word on whether or not the Steelers plan to bring back Antwaan Randle-El, Chris Fuamatu-Ma’afala or Mark Bruener.
