From Helmet 2 Helmet:

The NFL’s most blusterous coach, Rex Ryan, has been conspicuously silent since the Jets’ brutal season ended. Wholesale changes to the organization are underway, with GM Mike Tannenbaum already receiving a pink slip and offensive coordinator Tony Sparano waiting for his walking papers.
Ryan, whose job is reportedly safe, has yet to hold a season-ending press conference, a league-mandated requirement for teams that failed to make the postseason. The media, growing restless, has conducted a ‘Where’s Waldo?’ search for Gang Green’s head man.
They need not look further.
Quoting a tipster who wrote into the site, Deadspin passes along word — and visual proof -- of Rex on vacation with his wife in the Bahamas.
Says the tipster:
My parents (we’re all jets fans) were apparently on the same flight as him out of Newark Airport this a.m. and saw him and his wife in the baggage area waiting for bags in the Bahamas. People went up and said hi to them and he confirmed he was Rex. He was wearing a Jets/Titans throwback coat.
My parents are staying at The Cove Atlantis. After they got their bags, there was a car waiting outside from that hotel. My dad asked if they were there to pick him up and driver responded “Are you Mr. Ryan?”
Considering the Daily News reported Wednesday that Ryan flew out of New Jersey on a “trip of a personal nature,” this would be appear to be legit. Shortly after the News published that story, the Jets announced that Ryan and owner Woody Johnson will conduct the elusive press conference next Tuesday, Jan. 8. Coincidence?
Ryan isn’t expected to be back in town until then, but it’s good to know we can call off the APB — for now.
