Everyone has stayed at a Holiday Inn Express at one point or another, because everyone can diagnose and come up with a prognosis for injured athletes. Such is the case with Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III. EVERYONE and their mother had him out for the year after Haloti Ngata drilled him in the knee on Sunday. Then he came back after being out for a play. But then he went down again when the pain became too much. Then he was out of the season, again. Then he was walking around, gingerly, as Kirk Cousins rallied the troops for an OT win. He was suddenly down with a MCL and not an ACL. The MRI later than night showed a sprain. But that wasn’t good enough, and people have been trying to figure out whether or not he would play this weekend, or the following. Since none of us know, let’s ask his dad.

“He’s doing great,” Robert Griffin II told USA TODAY Sports. “He definitely said he plans to start. I haven’t seen him (the last two days). But he told me (today) everything has gone well.”

And there you have it, RGIII will be on the field Sunday, according to his father. Well, according to RGIII, via his father.

I love Kirk Cousins the football player. He led Michigan State to their best seasons in nearly 25 years, and I was happy to see him do well at the end of the Ravens game, but the Redskins need RGIII to play, and play healthy. If he can bear the pain and still be a threat with his legs, the Redskins can definitely win out to end the season and reach the playoffs if things workout. Cousins doesn’t bring what RGIII does in Kyle Shanahan’s offense. The success of that offense is play fakes. RGIII is amazing in play-action, and we really don’t know how Cousins will do, because he simply isn’t a threat to run it if he doesn’t hand it to Alfred Morris. So the ‘Skins sake, they better hope Bob II is right.
