One year ago, Steve Weatherford caused a litlte bit of a stir when he tweeted out a video of New York Giants teammate Prince Amukamura being thrown into an ice cold bath with all his clothes on by Jason Pierre-Paul. The Giants, for whatever reason, took a lot of heat over social media and through other means for the rather silly act of hazing. Weatherford ended up taking the most heat from within his own team since he was the one that allowed it to go public. This year, a tweet involving Weatherford is much more touching and much more deserving of attention as well as recognition. Joseph Brennan was a lifelong Giants fan and it was the punter that gave him his last great memory of the team. Not everyone gets the chance to obtain an autograph of a player from their favorite team, and even when it is just the punter, it’s a special moment. Brennan was suffering from cancer at the age of 79, and the few minutes that Weatherford spent signing his Giants hat was one of his favorite final moments. Weatherford signed Brennan’s favorite Giants hat, and according to his daughter, it brought immense joy [...]

  • Steve is a great guy and a class act. My daughter made him a bracelet before the super bowl last year and he promised he would wear it in the game (along with Lawrence tynes). They did wear them as promised and she was over the moon. She has his autographed picture in her room. She got sick this year and its been rough for her the past 6 months, but every time she sees him on tv or looks at that picture she smiles and is reminded how there are still some great people in this world.

RUMORS & GOSSIP

WATCH: Irving scores career-high 55, hits game winner

With Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James currently sidelined due to a sprained wrist, the team needed someone to step up in his absence on Wednesday night. Kyrie Irving did just that—and then some. Irving torched the Blazers and scored a career-high (and NBA season-high) 55 points on a 17-of-36 shooting performance. He was particularly dangerous behind the arc—knocking down...

Gronk on interest in his partying: 'I'm a baller'

It would have been extremely difficult for Rob Gronkowski to top his performance on Tuesday during Super Bowl Media Day, what with his stupefied reading of a passage from the erotic novella, “A Gronking to Remember,” among other entertaining antics. But the New England Patriots tight end at least maintained a level of excellence on...Read More The post Rob Gronkowski on the...

Colts' suspension of Richardson voids $3.1 million

The tale of Trent Richardson gets stranger by the day. No, I’m not talking about him getting traded or his continual disappointment between the lines on an NFL field. I’m talking about his very standing in the league and with his current team, the Indianapolis Colts. Trent Richardson missed the Colts’ final two playoff games and all indications were that it was for “personal...

Report: Broncos hire Phillips as defensive coordinator

New Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak has reportedly pulled off quite the hire. According to ESPN insider Ed Werder, the team has hired former NFL head coach Wade Phillips to be its new defensive coordinator.  If the Broncos were going for experience, they succeeded big time here. A coach in the NFL since 1976, Phillips has been a defensive coordinator for the New Orleans...

LeBron James misses Cavs-Blazers game due to wrist injury

The Cleveland Cavaliers are riding high, owners of a seven-game winning streak, but to continue it, they’ll need to do so without LeBron James. The Cavaliers announced just before Wednesday night’s tipoff that James would miss his career-high 10th game of the season with a sore right wrist. He is also likely to miss an 11th game on Friday against Sacramento. LeBron James out...

Iceman: Thompson’s 37-point quarter doesn't break his record

In case you missed it, Klay Thompson set the NBA record for most points scored in a single quarter after putting up 37 points in the third quarter of Friday night’s game against the Sacramento Kings. Thompson broke the previous record of 33 points, accomplished by George Gervin and Carmelo Anthony in 1978 and 2008, Article found on: Next Impulse Sports

Mayweather visited Pacquiao’s hotel room for private meeting

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao appear to be serious about finally fighting. The two boxers met at halftime of the Miami Heat-Milwaukee Bucks game on Tuesday by chance (video here); Mayweather attends Heat games regularly, and Pacquiao happened to be in town because he judged a beauty pageant over the weekend.
