This season San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree tore his Achilles during OTAs and is expected to be sidelined for six months.
San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis is trying to rekindle the magic he had at the beginning of last season, but he’ll have to do it without Alex Smith who is now in Kansas City.
Davis’ numbers dropped after Colin Kaepernick took over for Smith, catching only 6 passes in the final five regular season games.

According to the San Jose Mercury News, 49ers running back Marcus Lattimore told the Associated Press that the hardest part of his rehab are the doctors and trainers slowing him down while he’s trying to work as hard as he can to get back on the field.
“I just want to train as hard as I can,” Lattimore said. “But I understand why they want me to slow down.”
To fix a problem that plagued him last season, San Francisco 49ers tackle Joe Staley opted to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his knee during OTAs rather than miss any time in training camp, according to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.
The scope is considered minor, so Staley will be back soon. He could of passed on the surgery and played throughout the season without the procedure...
