Could there be a better pairing than Terrell Owens and the Jets?

As TO was watching the Jets' anemic offensive effort against the Texans on Monday Night Football, Owens took to Twitter to beg New York for a shot.

Owens already had a chance with an NFL team this summer when he played for the Seahawks during the preseason, but was cut on Aug. 26. If there's any team in the league that needs a wide receiver of Owens' caliber, it's the Jets, who started Jeremy Kerley and Chaz Schilens on Monday night.

Owens has 15,934 yards and 153 touchdowns in his career, but he's 38-years-old and didn't show he had much left with the Seahawks. Still, the Jets look like they need to do something to get their offense back in order.

  • No doubt quick release you are definitely correct. He dug his own grave earlier in his career and throughout his career by continuously having a negative attitude. That being said (and this may make me somewhat of a chump) for some reason I believe him and the way that he has been acting as of late he seems much more humble then he has been in the past and much more professional. Take the way he handled being cut from the Seahawks no spectacle just a thank you and he was on his way and as negative of influence he has been throughout his career and regardless of whether he deserves one I kind of hope he gets another shot.

  • I'm reminded of the movie "The Princess Bride" where Vizzini says "Inconceivable!" and Inigo Montoya responds "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

    In your case, your use of the word 'omnipotent' seems out of place. Omnipotent means 'almighty or infinite in power', which does not, in any way, describe T.O.

    In fact, if there were a person who truly was 'almighty or infinite in power', I would imagine EVERY team would sell everything they own to possess such a player.

    Were you, perhaps, thinking of the word 'impotent'? That would at least make a little more sense in this context.

  • T.O. was a great player and person at one time. He still can be a great person if he straightens his ass out and goes to work doing something constructive. As to his being a great, or even good, receiver again, very doubtful. There is no substitute for youth!
