PLAYERS: Vince Young

Via Jocks And Stiletto Jill:

Vince Young’s financial situation is the subject of a legal battle. Young has asserted his financial advisor, Ronald Peoples, secured a seven-figure loan during the NFL lockout that the ex-NFL qb claims wasn’t authorized by him. Peoples claimed in a deposition that Vince Young wanted to throw himself a birthday party that would cost $300,000 so he reached out to Pro Player Funding LLC about the loan.

“I think we still would have been OK to go ahead and survive until the next season, but he had a birthday event coming up that he paid 300 and some thousand dollars for,” Peoples testified. “That’s what prompted that call.”

Vince Young’s representatives have denied this claim. The loan was secured the day before Young’s 28th birthday. People’s also said that Young’s monthly expenses would sometimes run as high as $200,000 per month.

“It’s almost like I can have a $30,000 budget that I know we had to pay here, but then, you know, I get an invoice for a Ferrari that he just bought for $176,000, and they want their money,” he testified.

  • And he thinks an NFL team will take him seriously? Go to. Canada,if you can clear customs. Stupidity is one thing we can't teach.
  • Seriously Vince Young? This is why you can't give people money for playing a game. It's quite apparent Mr. Young isn't the sensation he thought he was because where is he now? Throwing yourself a $300,000 birthday party? Ignorant POS is all he is. It's okay, he'll be in the paper one day for something more serious with a jail term attached to it. Stupid, stupid, stupid...
  • this has to be among the most ridiculous behaviors ever perpetuated by a human being. I hope it is not true, but if it is, shame on the entire Vince Young management team.
  • The reason he didn't make it in the NFL....he would not study the play book or film. There was a big question from NFL scouts about his ability to read and overall IQ Now you know why! He's just stupid and that's a tough one to fix.
  • Ignorant! Simply put, just ignorant. No other way to slice it.
  • What IS it with this guy? He's blown through millions of dollars, if memory serves me he either filed or was about to file for bankruptcy, can't find a team that will put up with him, has been a huge bust in the NFL, and now he pulls this? A hint, Vince--when you're closing in on broke, you have a quiet b'day bash at home with your family and a few close friends, you don't throw a $300K ego bash and show off your new Ferrari. I give him another five years before he's either on the streets or living in a friend's basement...or in jail. He's a bigger waste of potential than Ricky Williams, and that takes work. If only he worked that hard on his game.
