Nate Burleson caught a nice 16-yard touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford with 10:28 to go in the third to bring the Lions within a score of the Carolina Panthers, but it was the celebration which set Twitter ablaze.  Check out the below video where Burleson mocks Cam Newton’s Superman celebration following his TD grab.  I don’t think this will do anything to help out the Lions reputation. Cam Newton avoids hit from Auburn teammate

Lost in the shuffle of looking up the dubious defensive records set by the Panthers on Sunday was this: Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley coming after Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, his old Auburn teammate, late in Detroit's 49-35 win. After one of Newton's four interceptions, Fairley started running to throw a block on Newton, who sort of side-stepped Fairley and kept...

There's still hope Lions fans

Matthew Stafford hasn't played well, but he's starting to move the ball now. Some unlikely heroes are delivering right now. Credit Nate Burleson, Rashied Davis and Kevin Smith for trying to salvage this offense. Burleson already has four catches for 39 yards. Lions are within striking distance,

Detroit Lions 49, Carolina Panthers 35

Huge third-and-15 stop for Lions

Cam Newton's pass intended to Steve Smith falls incomplete. A first down could've been the clincher for the Panthers, considering how this game has been going.

Carolina Panthers: Position-By-Position Analysis

The key players on the Panthers' roster will remain largely intact through the 2012 season and, in many cases, longer than that. A position-by-position analysis by Observer columnist Scott Fowler: Quarterbacks: The electrifying Cam Newton has made the team relevant again. He's signed through the 2014 season, but expect the Panthers to use all means at their disposal (franchise...

Carolina Panthers @ Detroit Lions: 1st quarter running diary

FOX has the game, and have assgned the Stockton - Lynch PBP combo...again. Feels like they have become the designated Lions' broadcasters, for better or worse. Usually worse. Stockton has been showing his age, and Lynch is, well, meh. Where's Gus Johnson when you really need hmi? Lions start with the ball, and come out throwing. A long pass to Megatron just misses, as...
