Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger joked Wednesday that he will be more careful about extending plays this Sunday against  Ndamukong Suh, Nick Fairley and the Detroit Lions defense. “Well, yeah, you’ve got to be careful,” Suh said, via ESPN.com. “You’ll end up dead if you’re not careful. This is a great D-line and defense. “Yeah, well, I tell myself all the time to be alert for those things. But then, when the bullets are flying, who knows what’s going to happen?” Roethlisberger doesn’t know what to expect from Suh. “I’ve yet to play him,” he said, via the team’s website. “I like to judge people off of what I see, what I do and what happens with me. Obviously, he has gotten penalties in the past and has been fined and things like that. I’ve never had a chance to play against him. After the game, we can talk about how I feel about it personally.” Roethlisberger has been sacked 379 times since the start of the 2001 season, the most in the league. Suh and Fairley said Wednesday that nobody will be killed on Sunday. “That’s interesting,” Suh said. “I’m not a killer. My track record proves that one. “I guess I can take that somewhat as a compliment. But no, there’s going to be no killing on Sunday.” Fairley added: “I wouldn’t say ‘kill someone,’ but if we stay alive in our rushes, sooner or later we’re going to get there.  He’s the type of quarterback that’s going to hold the ball to extend plays. And watching, Coach telling us this morning, we just gotta stay alive. “We can be on one side of the field, and he can reverse and come back to you. So just stay alive in the rush. That’s what we’re going to try and harp on.” The post Ndamukong Suh to Ben Roethlisberger: ‘I’m not a killer’ appeared first on Sports Glory.

Why Would Roethlisberger Want to Stay in Pittsburgh?

The most recent ‘to-do’ started with a report prior to Sunday’s game against Buffalo. NFL Network Reporter Ian Rapoport said Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was “frustrated” with the offense and would seek a trade at season’s end. The fact he is frustrated was not news. Regardless of which side of the report you fall on we cannot dismiss it. Rapoport...

Ben Roethlisberger looking to be paid well like fellow quarterbacks

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is likely to enter talks of a contract extension this offseason. Roethlisberger’s current contract expires after the 2015 season. According to the National Football Post, Roethlisberger would receive a contract of over $20 million per season. That deal would put him in the same class as Joe Flacco, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, and Drew Brees. It will...

Roethlisberger Not Big On Using An Extra Offensive Lineman Inside The Red Zone

Earlier this week, I wrote about how the Pittsburgh Steelers offense has struggled inside the red zone this season and on Wednesday, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was asked to give his thoughts on the subject. "We scored twice down there but we kicked field goals," started Roethlisberger. "That’s why I think I was so disappointed after the game. We won, and I am...

Report: Mike Tomlin’s coaching job with Steelers is safe for 2014

(Credit: Zimbio) The Pittsburgh Steelers are going through one of the roughest seasons in recent memory in 2013, sitting at 3-6 and in last place in the AFC North. Coming off a 2012 campaign where they started 6-3 but finished 8-8, disappointment is heavy in the Steel City. An organization with unmatched success since the merger isn’t used to losing, and two subpar seasons in a...

Ben Roethlisberger doesn’t want to be “killed” by Lions’ tandem at defense tackle

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is known for holding onto footballs too long and not giving up on plays. Nonetheless, he realizes that he can’t do that very often against the Lions’ Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley. Well, yeah, I mean, you’ve got to be careful,” Roethlisberger said. “You’ll end up dead if you’re not careful.” Need NFL Tickets? Loading...

Mike Tomlin Dismisses Big Ben Trade Rumors

The Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was the latest to come forward to dismiss Ben Roethlisberger trade rumors which surfaced last week. Tomlin didn't hedge either. He was quite adamant that there was no truth to the rumors that the Steelers were either shopping Ben, nor to any that said Big Ben was looking to move on from Pittsburgh. Per ESPN: Coach Mike Tomlin...

Mike Tomlin’s Job As Steelers Coach Is Safe For 2014

You can take Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin off the list of coaches on the hot seat. Despite a 3-6 record, Tomlin’s job is safe according to Ian Rapoport. From Total Access pregame show: I'm told #Steelers coach Mike Tomlin's job is safe for the 2014 season, despite the struggles. — Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) November 14, 2013 Why is Mike Tomlin's job safe...

Report: Ben Roethlisberger’s Next Contract Could Exceed $20 Million A Season

I want to meet the owner that’s going to pay Ben Roethlisberger, Peyton Manning type money. Thacover2 is reporting that Roethlisberger next contract could exceed him making $20 million a season. That type of deal for the the 31-year-old Roethlisberger would put him in the same company with fellow quarterbacks Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco. The Steelers...

Mike Tomlin Will Rerturn in 2014

This could make or break your day depending on your opinion of the state of the 2013 Steelers--but it looks like Coach Tomlin is definitely going to return in 2014. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport broke the story this morning. It is not revealed who this "source" continues to be (the same source that leaked the Steelers were interested in trading Big Ben). Coach...

Report: Ben Roethlisberger’s Next Contract Could Exceed $20 Million per Season

I’m not sure that even when Ben Roethlisberger was winning two Super Bowls for the Pittsburgh Steelers, that he was worth $20 million a season. But, it isn’t my money to spend so what do I know? Regardless, Big Ben’s cap number on his current deal will only continue to rise and with the Steelers […]

Keeping Ben Healthy Won’t Be Easy This Sunday

Despite some of the criticism he’s received this season, I think Ben Roethlisberger is the only thing really separating the Steelers from being as bad as the Jaguars or Buccaneers. If the Steelers have any chance of pulling off some sort of miracle run to make the playoffs, they need to keep Big Ben healthy. That could prove to be a big challenge this Sunday. Ben has been sacked...

Tomlin Talks Megatron

Calvin Johnson is a beast. "Megatron" as he is known, has been absolutely killing it again this year on a Lions team that really only does one thing well: throw the football. They are elite through the air, largely due to Johnson and quarterback Matthew Stafford, who basically has a rocket launcher attached to his shoulder when throwing the rock deep. They aren't that...

Steelers Report Card: Week 10 vs. Buffalo

Quarterback: BQuarterback Ben Roethlisberger certainly didn’t put up one of his better statistical games, but he managed a balanced offensive gameplan that was just enough to seal away a victory in typical Steelers fashion. Roethlisberger threw his only interception of the game on the team’s first drive; unfortunately, it came when the Steelers’ offense was driving deep into...

David Todd: Quick Thoughts – Steelers Versus Bills

By David Todd The Steelers kept their slim playoffs hopes alive Sunday at Heinz Field with a solid all-around performance, comfortably handling the Buffalo Bills 23-10. Again the Steelers got off on the wrong foot as Ben Roethlisberger turned it over on the Steelers opening drive for the second week in a row, but the defense held the Bills to a field goal and the Steelers were able...
