At least, that is what we would have heard NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell say at that time had Shahid Khan purchased the team from Wayne Weaver a couple of years ago.
“[One hundred] percent I would have [drafted Tim Tebow],” Khan said. “When is the next time Jacksonville is going to have an athlete like Tim Tebow?”
Ouch. How must Tyson Alualu feel about that comment? If you remember, Alualu was the pick from the Jaguars in the 2010 NFL Draft. Apparently, he would not have been had Khan been the owner two years ago.
This statement makes one wonder about three things.
First, how safe should incumbent starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert feel if Jacksonville’s new owner prefers someone such as Tebow over him.
Second, how much say will general manager Gene Smith actually have under Khan, who may be making more...
