This transpired despite the fact that the Saints were originally hoping to retain him as their starting center until being outbid so soundly by the 49ers. I suppose this was pay-back to Mickey Loomis for having outbid them on their own DT Aubrayo Franklin in yesterday’s dealings. C Jonathan Goodwin, #76, working in perfect unison with QB Drew Brees Second year pro C/G Matt Tennant, who has been filling in quite flawlessly thus far for Goodwin, the team’s former starter at center, during the first five days of Saints camp, will apparently inherit the all-important job of delivering the ball to QB Drew Brees unless perhaps the New Orleans front office is able to identify a viable candidate to further mentor him on a one year deal.
