Several New Orleans Saints veterans are scheduled to begin voluntary workouts today at Tulane University’s Westfeldt Practice Facility.
Even though NFL players are not allowed to work out at their team’s respective facilities because of the league-wide lockout.
However, a judicial decision is expected soon whether or not to temporarily suspend the lockout until the appeal processes are complete.
Many teams, including the Saints, are holding the workouts in attempt to stay in condition and to be ready once the lockout is over.
Pro Bowl quarterback Drew Brees has organized the voluntary workouts and is requesting teammates to attend.
Several players, including linebacker Jonathan Vilma and fullback Heath Evans, are planning on attending.
The workouts will consist primarily of conditioning and weight lifting.
