New York Giants  2012 third-round draft pick Jayron Hosley was carted off the field today after getting tangled with wideout Isaiah Stanback during one-on-one's. Trainers immediately began tending to the rookies right leg, and it looks like this could possibly be a knee injury.

Hosley attended Virginia Tech University, where he established himself as a standout corner. In 2010, he led all of college football in interceptions, and showed his ability to make plays on the ball. His elite speed and quickness make him an intriguing prospect in the Giants revamped defensive backfield.

After being drafted by the Giants, Hosley looked great as a slot corner throughout OTA's and mini-camp. With the Giants' depth at corner, Hosley is not expected to see any significant playing time early in his career.

However, as a rookie, training camp is an imperative time in which to acclimate one to the NFL. If Hosley misses a significant period of time, it could be extremely detrimental to his development as a player. Hopefully this injury is not as serious as it looked.

As a side note, cornerback Terrell Thomas is not on the field today. Rumors are that he is getting tests done on his knee. After missing all of 2011 with a torn ACL, this will be a situation to keep an eye on as training camp progresses.

Giants 101 will have further updates on both of these situations as the team begins to wrap up its activities for the day.
