Over the past several years, the New York Giants have been one of the best teams in the NFL not only on the field, but also in terms of staying out of legal trouble. However, Sarah Armaghan of the New York Daily News reports that last night, New York Giants offensive linemen David Diehl was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
Diehl was reportedly watching the Croatia vs. Ireland soccer game at Scorpio Cafe & Bar in Astoria. At around 8:20pm, Diehl wrecked his BMW on Boradway at 31st Street. Thankfully, nobody was injured in the accident; however, Diehl was immediately arrested on the scene for suspicion of drunken driving. He was then taken back to the police station where he failed a breathalyzer test. His blood alcohol content was over twice the legal limit. Diehl is being held at the 114th precint. Formal charges have not yet been filed.
