Found October 16, 2013 on FF Locker Room:
Today, the desperate New York Giants added running back Peyton Hillis to help bolster a depleted group. Currently Andre Brown is on IR with the designation to return (estimated to be week 10), David Wilson is OUT with a neck injury and both Brandon Jacobs and backup Da’Rel Scott are dealing with injuries from the week 6 game in Chicago. It sounds as if Brandon Jacobs will be able to bounce back for the Monday Night game with the Minnesota Vikings but Da’Rel Scott is very questionable. Hillis is a veteran and should be able to pick up the scheme pretty quick but if Jacobs is able to go, he could be in for a lot of work. I absolutely cant’s stand Jacobs as a player but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pick him up. The Vikings are the worst team in the league against opposing running backs and Jacobs could be in line for a decent game. Of course, that’s when he’ll disappoint you. Just know you are playing with fire.   The post New York Giants Sign RB Peyton Hillis Due To Injuries appe...

Giants down to 1 healthy halfback for Vikings

The New York Giants finally get their running game going against the Chicago Bears with Brandon Jacobs, and they head into this week with the possibility of having to start rookie Michael Cox at halfback. Rueben Randle, David Wilson trade shots on Twitter

It was clearly light-hearted, but that didn't make it any less weird to see two embattled young New York Giants take shots at each other on Twitter Thursday night. After all, the Giants are 0-6 and Wilson and Randle -- picked first and second in last year's draft -- have both made a few notable mistakes along the way.  It all started when Randle retweeted Wilson's...

Giants’ David Wilson avoids neck surgery, out 3-4 weeks

New York Giants running back David Wilson dodged a bullet when his second opinion informed him that he did not need to undergo season-ending neck surgery, according to Connor Orr of the Newark Star Ledger. However, Wilson will still likely ride the bench for the next 3-4 weeks while he recovers from spinal stenosis and a herniated disk that he suffered in Week 5′s 36-21 loss to...

Week 6 Observations

Brandon Jacobs ran well through wide open lanes against the Bears, but it was hard to keep from wondering how monstrous a day David Wilson would have had should he have stayed healthy. The Giants offensive line has been incapable of blocking anyone this year, so it shows how much the Bears defensive brand has deteriorated. News that Wilson is out only 3-4 weeks with a neck injury...

David Wilson, Rueben Randle hurl insults on Twitter — were they joking?

Rueben Randle and David Wilson have both had their ups and downs with the New York Giants since their NFL careers began a year ago. Wilson, a former Virginia Tech star, ended up in Tom Coughlin’s dog house after Week 1 this season when he lost two fumbles. Randle, who played college ball at LSU, […]

David Wilson Will Not Need Surgery

Good news for David Wilson as the Giants running back will not need season ending neck surgery. There is still a chance that Wilson could play this season, though the prognosis seems to be that Wilson will miss three-to-four weeks to rehab his neck before the team re-evaluates his status. The news comes courtesy of ESPN. Wilson was examined by neck specialist Robert...

David Wilson, Rueben Randle Rip Each Other’s Shortcomings on Twitter After Giants’ Miserable Start

David Wilson and Rueben Randle don’t seem to be taking the Giants’ 0-6 start very seriously. The G-Men are playing like a pile of hot garbage this season, ranking ahead of only the lowly Jaguars in point differential as one of the three winless teams in the NFL. Neither Wilson nor Randle has excelled thus far — Wilson, whose role was diminished drastically after early-season...

Giants Are Ridiculously Thin at Running Back

The Giants lack a consistent run game this year and now they also lack actual running backs. For Monday's practice, the Giants had exactly one running back participate - rookie seventh round draft pick Michael Cox. What of the other running backs that the Giants signed this season to carry the load and take some pressure off of Eli Manning? Davld Wilson is...
