Found September 06, 2012 on Football Nation:
The long anticipated season opener of the NFL fell flat of many expectations, especially those from New York and their faithful fans. The first half of this football game looked more like a preseason opener than a season opener. The play was extremely sloppy on both sides of the ball for each team, and there were numerous "dumb" penalties committed by both teams. At the end of the game, the Cowboys were simply the better team. The Giants could not run the ball, their sure-handed receivers could not catch the ball, and the defensive front could not get consistent pressure on Tony Romo. Occasionally in a game, you'll have issues with one of these factors, but when you struggle with all of these phases of the game, you're guaranteed to lose. But the Giants still had a chance with over two minutes left in the game, and had the Cowboys forced into a third down and ten. All the Giants' defense needed to do was get one stop and they could get the ball back with a chan...

Defense, Romo Lead Cowboys to Win Over Giants

Dallas Cowboys 24, New York Giants 17. I couldn’t have been more wrong on my prediction for this game, and boy am I glad for that! I had picked a 27-24 Giants win as I figured it was too steep of a mountain for Dallas to climb to win this game. But it turns out, these aren’t your 2011 Cowboys. And thank goodness for that. The 2011 version of the Cowboys, which had problems closing...

Review of Romo’s Wednesday Night Performance

It was only a matter of time before Tony Romo does what he normally does statistically on a big stage. Playing on a national stage and in the home of the defending world champion (and bitter NFC East rival) New York Giants, Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys played the role of party stoppers in grand fashion. Very few gave Romo and the ‘Boys much respect coming into this contest...

Romo Shines In 24-17 Cowboy Victory

Cowboys QB Tony Romo proved he's still one of fantasy's best second-tier QBs with 307 yards and three touchdowns Wednesday in the season opener against the Giants.Fantasy Spin:Romo spread the ball around and the Cowboys offense produced three excellent fantasy receiver lines from Kevin Ogletree, Dez Bryant and Miles Austin. Romo should continue to put up big numbers, especially...

Tony Romo shines as Cowboys defeat Eli Manning’s Giants

Good to be a winner The Tony Romo haters have to hate the way the 2012 NFL season kicked off. For the first time in nine years, the defending Super Bowl champs lost the opener at home. In a much-anticipated NFC East rumble, Romo’s Cowboys out-dueled Eli’s Giants, 24–17. Romo was brilliant. He completed 22 of 29 passes for 307 yards and three touchdowns. Sure, he...

The hero of the night props goes...

4 keys to the Cowboys’ playoff chances

Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys face a tough schedule, but history shows that teams that do not make the playoffs one year can always make a deep, unexpected run the following year. Here are the four keys to the 'Boys making the 2012 playoffs.

Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants: Five Things We Learned

Finally NFL football is back! A late rally by Eli Manning and the defending champion New York Giants came up short on this opening Wednesday kickstart to the 2012 campaign. The long awaited divisional matchup began in lackluster fashion, the only touchdown in a yawner of a first half coming on a Tony Romo toss to Kevin Ogletree from ten yards out with 2:33 left before intermission...

Fantasy football splits loyalties

I know exactly how I hope Wednesday's NFL regular-season opener at MetLife Stadium will go. I want the New York Giants to start by pounding the ball on the ground, getting at least one rushing touchdown, hopefully by Ahmad Bradshaw. I want the Giants to be up by, say, 14 points at half so the Dallas Cowboys are forced to pass the ball in the second half. I want Tony Romo to throw...
