Found December 27, 2012 on Turn On The Jets:
For some reason many people were surprised at Rex Ryan announcing that Mark Sanchez is going to be the New York Jets starting quarterback this Sunday in Buffalo. At this point, nothing related to the Jets quarterback situation should surprise anybody. Greg McElroy has a concussion? Maybe. He was sacked 11 times on Sunday. It is understandable if he held off telling the coaching staff until this point as he knew this could be his last chance to start a game for awhile. Sadly, you could argue that it is equally as feasible that the front office told Rex Ryan to find a way to sit McElroy and get Mark Sanchez one last start. Who knows at this point? With McElroy out of the picture, it becomes a no-brainer to start Sanchez over Tim Tebow. Why? Look at both their contracts. Look at both their situations. Tim Tebow isn’t coming back next year. He isn’t going anywhere but Jacksonville, whether it is via trade of a late round pick or simply being released and signed by them. There is nothing to gained from having him start from the front office perspective. Mark Sanchez is owed over 8 million dollars next year. He could stay or go, depending on who is in charge. If he plays well, maybe he builds some confidence heading into a quarterback battle with a veteran next year. If he plays well, maybe it is a little easier to convince some team to take him for a 7th round pick if the Jets agree to pay the overwhelming majority of the contract. If he doesn’t play well…what else is new? There is no reason for an uproar either way. It doesn’t matter if Sanchez or Tebow plays well on Sunday because it is a meaningless game against an awful defense. Anybody who puts any stock into a performance, good or bad, from Sunday’s game is a fool. So enjoy one last spin on the circus carousel because come Monday the firings begin. The only thing Jets fans should be rooting for right now is for Mike Tannenbaum to get fired, not reassigned. Who cares about Sunday?

Mark Sanchez Will Start Week 17

Mark Sanchez will get the start at quarterback Sunday in the Jets' season finale against Buffalo.Fantasy Spin:It's pretty much by default as Greg McElroy has been ruled out with a concussion. Sanchez will probably be on a short leash and could be benched in favor of Tim Tebow if he gets off to a rough start. Sanchez actually had one of his better games of the season versus...

Rex Ryan: You’re not going to believe this, but Mark Sanchez is starting against Bills

What better way for the New York Jets to end their season than to start the quarterback who was once the starter, then got benched, then started again, then got benched again and is now preparing to be under center to close out the year. Greg McElroy is still suffering from concussion-like symptoms, which means Mark Sanchez is starting against the Buffalo Bills this weekend. You...

Jets will start Mark Sanchez in season finale

New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan has informed quarterback Mark Sanchez that he’ll start in the season finale. The reason Sanchez is getting the start is because Greg McElroy is currently being evaluated for a concussion.  Of course Tim Tebow isn’t happy at all about this. Without the circus that is the Jets, I wouldn’t be able to laugh as much I have been.   Need NFL Tickets...

Tebow: I didn't ask out of the Wildcat

It's a been a difficult year in New York for Tim Tebow and the Jets, and in a recent interview with ESPN, the polarizing QB tried to set the record straight on a few things.

Jets Rumors: Rex Ryan Wants to be Fired?

Following his second consecutive disappointing season at the helm of the New York Jets, coach Rex Ryan is reportedly telling anyone that will listen that he’d be better off being fired if the team isn’t willing to “rectify player personnel and coaching issues on offense,” reports Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. The Daily News has learned that Ryan, the swashbuckling...

Greg McElroy Hid Concussion Symptoms From Jets’ Trainers, Coaching Staff

With all the importance places on head injuries and concussions in sports over the past few years, all the safety measures in the world don’t help if players aren’t honest about their suffering. Greg McElroy was sacked 11 times in the Jets’ loss to the Chargers on Sunday, and at some point during the game suffered a concussion — it’s not exactly clear when. McElroy reportedly...

Why Vince Young Is The Best Free Agent QB

So let me get this straight. We can talk till we are blue in the face about the future of Mark Sanchez. Talk ad nauseum about the unfair treatment of Tim Tebow. Ask a thousand times about where Michael Vick is going to be taking snaps, and dub a one game wonder in Matt Flynn the most sought after quarterback going into the 2013 offseason. But we don't have time to bring up...

Fire Rex Ryan

ESPN - The New York Jets' three-quarterback circus turned surreal Thursday morning, when Rex Ryan announced that Greg McElroy was being evaluated for a possible concussion and won't play Sunday against the Buffalo Bills in the season finale. Bypassing Tim Tebow for the second time in as many weeks, Ryan said Mark Sanchez will start the game -- yet another blow to Tebow,...

If Woody Johnson has a moment of clarity, he fires Rex Ryan

Rex Ryan’s bravado may have finally got the best of him. The New York Jets head coach has always been extremely confident, in fact, cocky. According to those in the know, if team owner won’t make the changes Rex wants, he should fire Rex. See, Rex isn’t stupid, either. He didn’t say my way or [...]
