New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan is well aware of his critics. When you put yourself out there the way Ryan has, you open yourself up to heavy criticism when things don’t turn out the way you’d hope. Although he’s known for his brash talk, the Jets head coach actually toned it down for the most part this past season, at least by his standards. Yes, there was that infamous Super Bowl prediction. Back in the summer, before the NFL lockout even ended, Ryan polished off that trademark confidence that he’s known for. Unfortunately, the Jets were unable to repeat the magic of his first two seasons and get over the hump. They never found much of an identity in 2011, and they were spectators in January for once. For whatever reason, Ryan’s players were unable to back up his words. But to Ryan’s credit, he’s been doing his best to adapt and learn from his failures, and that even means toning down the talk. “I think I’m out of that predic...

Rex Ryan To Be More Active In Playcalling

TOJ would like to welcome our newest writer Matt Fritz, who currently attends Juniata College in Pennsylvania. We are particularly happy to employ individuals from Centennial Conference schools like myself and especially from schools who I scored a touchdown against (what are you mad about this shameless self promotion? Give me a break, I just suffered through a Giants/Patriots...

Jets take out ad to congratulate Giants

In a nice move, the New York Jets franchise took out a full-page ad in the New York Daily News in order to congratulate the rival Giants for a "well-deserved championship."

Apparently Giants Fans Are Excited To See Mark Sanchez At The Victory Parade (Video)

Someone forgot to tell this blonde girl that Rex Ryan’s predictions are generally incorrect. So tell me Giants fans, would you still bang her despite her lack of respect or knowledge of the Big Blue nation? Can’t wait to see this chick at the Yankees championship parade with her David Wright jersey on. Share this:

Jets' Ryan: Ready for next season but done with predictions

Jets coach Rex Ryan famously promised that his team would win the Super Bowl this season. Before watching the Giants and Patriots face off for the title, Ryan told NFL Network that he's done making such bold predictions.

New York Jets: Most Pressing Offseason Needs

The New York Jets had a very bad end to their season. They finished at 8-8 and had a lot of in fighting. Mark Sanchez their quarterback has taken a beating as well as the head coach Rex Ryan. I think Rex Ryan deserves a chance to turn it around and he will get that chance. I also don't totally blame the quarterback Mark Sanchez. Here is what I think the biggest needs for...

The King Keeps His Crown: How The Jets Can Learn From The Giants

As difficult as the winter months were for the Jets, enduring their own crash and locker room dramas, as the hated Patriots and “Big Brother” Giants just rolled along, Gang Green should ditch any small minded “G Men” envy, and get out the notepads instead. Rex Ryan said that he reviewed his own performance with a pen and paper this past week while vacationing in Hawaii. The...

Jets take out full-page ad to congratulate Giants

Rex Ryan was wrong. The Jets aren't "big brother" in New York, a fact even Ryan would admit at this point. Perhaps aware they need to address this, the team took out a full-page ad in the NY Daily News congratulating the Giants on their Super Bowl win.

Jets Full Page Ad Classy Move, Could be Motivational Tool

The day after the Giants paraded down the “Canyon of Heroes,” Jets fans awoke to this full page ad in the Daily News. There was some debate about whether the Jets did the right thing by congratulating the team that trashed talked them the last few weeks, and often is looked at as their big brother. I don’t have a problem with it, and think it was the right thing...

Mark Sanchez should have been the Grand Marshall of the New York Giants Super Bowl Parade

I hate parades because they are a waste of money, but I do love a girl making a fool of herself on television. Who is Eli Manning in New York? Where is (Mark) Sanchez? This girl must be related to Rex Ryan or getting her feet sucked by him every once and a while.[Follow me @TravisHouser]

If Giants’ Super sequel doesn’t fuel turbulent Jets’ relaunch, nothing will

Hey, what time is the Jets’ parade this morning? What’s that, you say? It’s the Giants rolling up through the Canyon of Heroes ... again? That’s funny, because we could have sworn Rex Ryan’s best-selling book last summer — and just about every interview the coach has done...

Congratulating Your Neighbor – Do You Agree?

I thought of the relationship between the Mets and Yankees, after seeing the Jets full-page ad congratulating the Giants on their Super Bowl victory. Over at Sports Media Watchdog, I wrote about how this is a smart move by Woody Johnson and company, as they need to amend for their season of trash talk. I also think it could be used by Rex Ryan as a motivational tool; a more positive...
