On Friday all NFL teams were required to cut down their rosters to the 53 player limit, and the Jets cut 22 players, notably three 2012 NFL Draft picks. After 12 noon Saturday the New York Jets decided to scour through the waiver wire for players they believed would help round out the roster more completely. Three new faces have joined the team: Isaako Aaitui, Clyde Gates and Konrad Reuland.
We can see the connection that Tony Sparano has to his former team, the Miami Dolphins, because they Jets made claims on defensive tackle Isaako Aaitui and wide receiver/kick returner Clyde Gates, both late of Miami. They also claimed tight end Konrad Reuland formerly with San Francisco. The first reports on these moves were by Rich Cimini at ESPN New York. Since three players were added, three more had to be cut/waived to make room, and they were: defensive end Marcus Dixon, safety Antonio Allen, and tight end Dedrick Epps. The Jets also lost running back Terrence Ganaway, who was claimed by th...

According to ProFootballTalk, the New York Jets currently have over $8 million in salary cap space. That figure will cause most to start complaining that the Jets didn't do enough in free agency or that they need to go out and make another signing with that much salary cap space, but there's a reason the Jets are holding on to that money. Teams can still roll over their...
Yet another former NFL player was critical of the New York Jets’ decision to trade for Tim Tebow. And where did this former NFL player do his criticizing? You guessed it, the Boomer and Carton show.
We’ve chronicled how a couple days after Boomer Esaison caught some flak for his comments that “he would cut Tebow”, Howie Long showed up on the Boomer and Carton show saying...
The New York Jets didn’t just trade for Tim Tebow to sell jerseys and run a Wildcat formation. They traded for the popular Tebow to compete with the inconsistent Mark Sanchez to be the Jets top signal caller.
Tebow won with the Denver Broncos last year, and will eventually overtake Sanchez sometime this season to lead the Jets’ offense.
However, don’t expect Tebow to succeed...

The New York Post is known for stirring things up with their newspaper covers, and they truly outdid themselves on Tuesday. In their NFL season preview, they put New York Jets quarterbacks Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow in a clown car being driven by coach Rex Ryan. Giants stars Justin Tuck and Eli Manning are seen cruising by in a convertible with the top down, holding their two Super...
Jets backup running back Joe McKnight is questionable for Sunday's game against Buffalo with a hamstring injury.Fantasy Spin:Bilal Powell will likely be the backup to Jets starter Shonn Greene. Greene should see plenty of work and post fantasy-worthy numbers in the opener.
The New York Post's NFL preview edition came out on Tuesday, and their cover accurately summed up the offseasons of both of New York's teams.
On the left is Eli Manning of the Giants dressed in a suit and driving a nice convertible, along with his pair of Lombardi trophies.
On the right is Rex Ryan of the Jets driving an old, broken down looking car wearing green...
Did we really expect to go an entire NFL offseason without hearing a peep from Sexy Rexy? After keeping his mouth shut for most of the preseason, New York Jets head coach couldn’t contain himself this past Friday when speaking about his team heading into the regular season. ”Overall, in my opinion, I think this has a chance to be the best team that I’ve had since I’ve...

On Tuesday the New York Jets brought in several punters.
