With three key wins in Week 9, the NFC expanded its lead over the AFC 23 to 13 in head-to-head match-ups. The only win for the AFC came via the Pittsburgh Steelers' 24-20 victory over the New York Giants.The NFC continues to dominate the AFC West. The Atlanta Falcons already went 4-0 over this division and in Week 9 the Tampa Bay Buccaneers also picked up a win against the AFC West. They defeated the Oakland Raiders 42-32. Running back Doug Martin ran for 251 yards for the Buccaneers as they racked up 21 points in the third quarter to pull away from the Raiders. Tampa Bay gets an opportunity to pick up another inter-conference victory next week when they play the San Diego Chargers.Mikel Leshoure rushed for three touchdowns as the Detroit Lions running game outlasted the Jacksonville Jaguars 31-14 last Sunday.
