The Broncos defense has looked fairly solid this season with the additions in the secondary and a few draft picks in the front seven, but the defense could look a little better if they had linebacker DJ Williams.

DJ Williams suspended 3 more games by the NFL (Ron Chenoy/US Presswire)

Williams was suspended prior to the start of the season for six games for submitting “non-human urine” during a random drug test from the league. He appealed and eventually lost the appeal, and has been serving his suspension throughout the firs four weeks of the year.

Now, the league has added an additional three games to that suspension for violation of the league’s substance abuse policy. He won’t be eligible to return to action until November 12th. The Broncos host division rival San Diego Chargers upon his return to game action on November 18th.

The additional suspension comes after Williams was convicted on a drunk driving charge in August, the second of such convictions since joining the team in 2004.

Don’t drink and drive kids, it’ll stop you from playing football – if you live.

Against the spread: NFL predictions for week 5

My NFL predictions for week 5 include rivalry games and upsets. The week began Thursday night with the St. Louis Rams for knocking the Arizona Cardinals out of the ranks of the undefeated. Now is the time when we will begin to really see which teams are contenders…and which are pretenders. The tone has been set…these teams are who we thought they were…to quote former Arizona...

Seven reasons the Broncos lose to Patriots

Denver, CO. So here we are, it is “Patriots Week”, as this much-anticipated 2012 regular season game is finally here. When the schedule came out back in April, this was one of the games that all die-hard NFL fans had to have circled. Broncos versus Patriots, but a somewhat bigger matchup is the long-standing rivalry between Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. This game will have...

Manning gets true test against Patriots

With Broncos – Patriots this week, we have a special guest, Dana Draper with 60 Max Power O. Since his return to football, Peyton Manning has played four games, but on Sunday afternoon, he’ll renew his rivalry with the New England Patriots, and is there anyone more qualified than Bill Belichick to game plan against him? This will be the 13th meeting between the two, and if...

McGahee keeps proving the doubters wrong

Willis McGahee wasn't supposed to make it to the NFL, much less pinball his way through pro defenses for a decade. So said the naysayers after he tore three ligaments in his left knee in his final college game at Miami. Ten years later, McGahee is still proving the doubters wrong. He just recorded his 32nd 100-yard rushing game, more than any active NFL running back and one...

New Offense Helping Broncos OT Ryan Clady's Cause For A New Deal

The Broncos and OLT Ryan Clady had been talking in the summer about an extension, but a deal has yet to be made. One thing Pro Football Weekly hears could help Clady’s case now is the new system and quarterback, which helps his statistics. Having to block mostly for Tim Tebow last season, Clady had seven holding penalties and allowed nine sacks. Through four games this year, he...

Denver Broncos vs. New England Patriots: Three Bold Predictions

A rivalry is about to be renewed in the NFL as Tom Brady faces Peyton Manning for the first time as the signal caller for the Denver Broncos. Denver Broncos (2-2) at New England Patriots (2-2)

Denver Broncos (2-2) at New England Patriots (2-2) We were without it for a year, but NFL fans will get to see Brady/Manning once again this year, their 13th meeting. What Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees have done over the past few years is very impressive, but no one compares to Brady and Manning when you look at the last 10 years or so as a whole. This is one of the greatest rivalries...
