If the first six didn’t work, the NFL tried to send Ndamukong Suh a message by fining him a seventh time this week. Suh was docked $31,500 for a questionable hit on Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden during last week’s game. The fine was Suh’s second this season. He was also forced to pay $100,000 earlier this year after throwing a low block on Vikings center John Sullivan. NFL vice president of operations Merton Hanks says that this most recent fine was done to get Suh’s attention. “The fine is more than the minimum because he is a repeat offender and I wanted to get Ndamukong Suh’s attention in this regard,” Hanks said in an interview with NFL Network’s Andrea Kramer. I’ve got to help him course correct.” Suh’s seven fines now total $209,000 over his three-plus seasons in the pros. Add the $165,294 he lost in game checks during a two-game suspension for a cheap shot against Green Bay Packers tackle Evan Dietrich-Smith in 2010 and Suh has had to forfeit $374,294 in total during his ca

Hysterical Craigslist job posting for Cleveland Browns QB

It isn't getting any better for Brandon Weeden, especially after he launched this pass last week against the Lions: The Cleveland Browns were having a bit of a renaissance when Brian Hoyer took over, but the offense is inept, once again, now that Weeden is back in a starting role. The team is back in the Tanking for Teddy sweepstakes, but one fan in the Cleveland area is willing...

Week Seven: Browns vs Packers Open Thread

Brandon Weeden and the Browns will look to bounce from last week’s frustrating loss when they take the field against the Packers in Green Bay. This is our first Sunday with the Browns in the late afternoon slot. I’m not sure how I feel about this game. On one hand, the Packers are fairly beat up and are missing quite a few receivers. On the other hand, they still have Aaron...

Browns are bad and boring in loss to Packers

Yawn. Every NFL fan’s worst nightmare is reality once again in Cleveland. The team is not only bad, but a deadly combination of bad and boring. That’s my takeaway from Green Bay as the Browns failed to do nearly anything offensively all day. The Browns end up falling to the Packers 31 to 13. It wasn’t just the Brandon Weeden-led offense. The defense started the day off poorly...

NFL News: Halftime score Browns 3, Packers 17

The Browns struggled out of the gate and go into the locker room down at the half for the first time all season. Brandon Weeden started the game 1 for 6 before throwing an interception on the Browns’ second possession. He finished the half with 5 completions on 14 attempts for 48 yards and an interception. That’s good for a 16.4 passer rating. The Browns put one drive together...

NFL fined Ndamukong Suh to get his attention

getty images The NFL fined Ndamukong Suh $31,500 following a questionable hit on Cleveland Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden in an attempt to get his attention. “The fine is more than the minimum because he is a repeat offender and I wanted to get Ndamukong Suh’s attention in this regard,” NFL vice president of operations Merton Hanks said in an interview with NFL Network...

Turner has seen better QBs throw worse interceptions than Weeden

These words actually left our mouth the other day: "The Browns' season went down with Brian Hoyer." We weren't kidding either. After leading Cleveland to two straight wins Hoyer suffered a torn ACL against the Bills in Week 5 paving the way for the return of Brandon Weeden the team's 2012 first-round pick who has been to put it kindly underwhelming. In last...

Scott Raab on the Browns, Brandon Weeden and Robert Redford’s movie career – WFNY Podcast – 2013-10-21

This week we talked about the Browns’ loss to the Packers, but we branched out a bit. We talked about Robert Redford, movie criticism and passing pop culture down generationally. We also talked about Scott Raab coming home to speak at Cleveland State and also the Happy Dog on Wednesday night at 7:30 PM with Zac Jackson as well. Here’s the email I sent to Scott in anticipation...

NFL VP wanted to 'get Ndamukong Suh's attention' with 2nd fine

When Ndamukong Suh was fined a record $100000 for a low block earlier this year the message seemed clear: Run afoul of the league again and face a suspension. Only he didn’t. Suh was fined for a second time this season on Wednesday $31500 for striking Cleveland Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden with his helmet. NFL vice president of operations Merton Hanks said Friday in a spot...

What we think the Browns will do against the Packers today (Week 7)

Cleveland Browns at Green Bay Packers October 20, 2013 Brian  Packers 17 Browns 13 I'm thinking the Browns defense stiffens up, but not convinced that Brandon Weeden and the offense plays like more than stiffs. Tom  Packers 17 Browns 10 Long day for the defense as the offense cannot stay on the...

NFL Survivor Survival Guide: Week 7

In Week 6, the Survival Guide went 3-0 for the first time this season, although the Bengals gave a lot of people a scare when they needed overtime to defeat Buffalo. Two of the remaining participants in the Fake Football Survivor League fell to the wayside last week, leaving just eight people to contemplate the slate of games in Week 7. I will once again pick my three favorite games...

Ol’ Bag of Donuts: Survival of the Fittest

Always trying to put a positive spin on things, Chris and Adam breakdown the significance of the rash of Packers injuries heading into Sunday’s matchup against the Browns and give some schematic suggestions for Green Bay to survive. The guys also offer up a game plan for “older than Rodgers” Brandon Weeden and yes, the ghost of Matt Leinart returns! Listen using the player...

Going to far? NFL hits Ndamukong Suh with absurd fine (GIF)

Yesterday the National Football League levied yet another fine ($31.5K to be exact) on Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh for what looked to be a clean hit on Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden last Sunday. The hit in question came on a third and four late in the first quarter as Suh broke though the offensive line delivering a brutal yet clean and timely hit forcing Weeden to rush...

5 Reasons Why Cleveland is a Tough Matchup for the Packers

Despite all the injuries that have decimated their roster the past couple weeks, the 3-2 Packers certainly deserve to be favorites going into Sunday's matchup with the Browns at Lambeau Field. But ten point favorites? That may be a bit much. Certainly the Packers have a decided advantage at the most important position on the field with quarterback Aaron Rodgers going up against...

Report: NFL invites Ndamukong Suh to visit league offices again

Even though many of us thought the NFL shouldn't have punished Ndamukong Suh for his hit last week on Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden (as seen in the above photo) he was fined $31500 anyway. Since he already was fined $100000 for an illegal block on Vikings center John Sullivan earlier this season the league has invited Suh to New York to talk face-to-face about his latest...
