If the NFL season ended today, the Miami Dolphins would have earned one of the AFC’s two wildcard playoff berths, based in part by the strong play of rookie QB Ryan Tannehill. As the Dolphins prepare to take on the Indianapolis Colts, Miami might have to take the field without Tannehill this week.
ESPN’s Ed Werder confirmed on Friday that Tannehill is indeed a 50-50 bet to start on Sunday. He will indeed be a game-time decision. If he cannot start, the Dolphins will plug Matt Moore under center. Werder tweeted, “Dolphins believe QB Ryan Tannehill is better than 50-50 to play against Colts but he will be a game time decision.”
Tannehill suffered a knee injury last Sunday against the New York Jets and was replaced by Moore. Moore was efficient off the bech, completing 11 of 19 pass attempts for 131 yards and a score during a game which was played in wet and windy conditions.
For fantasy football owners, Tannehill might be a very risky play this week, and owners would be wise to have a...
