The final week of the preseason has finally arrived, with three games tonight and the rest being played tomorrow.

The best part? It is now only one week until the Cowboys and Giants open up the regular season … when meaningful football finally gets underway.

Wisconsin’s Russell Wilson has gone from overlooked draft prospect to beating out high-priced signee Matt Flynn as the starting QB in Seattle.

NFL Preseason Week 4 Storylines

Russell Wilson Begins Tenure as Starter in Seattle

Russell Wilson became the fifth rookie quarterback to be named a starter this preseason, as he won the job from Matt Flynn in Seattle. This brings up the question of why Seattle went out and signed Flynn in the first place, who was the billed as one of the top free agent quarterbacks this past offseason.

Wilson was great in college, especially last year with Wisconsin, and he deserves this opportunity. He is often questioedn based on his size, but this has not been a problem for him throughout his time in college and currently in the NFL.

New York Jets Look for First Touchdown

It is only the preseason, but the fact that the Jets have not scored a single touchdown is not a good sign. Not even the mighty Tim Tebow has been able to reach the endzone, which drew some boos from the Jets faithful.

As said before, this is not a major issue as it is still the preseason. However, even the worst offenses in the league are usually able to score in the preseason.

Brandon Weeden Sits out Final Game

Browns’ rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden will sit out Cleveland’s final preseason game on Thursday. This means that his next appearance will be in the season opener next Sunday against Philadelphia.

This will also be Trent Richardson’s first game all year, as he has been out for the entire preseason due to minor knee surgery. The Browns need everyone healthy to have a shot at beating the Eagles, so holding out Weeden in a smart decision.
