Every season, NFL coaches and management staffs are tasked with cutting a set number of players at certain deadlines. Take a look of several household names who got the pink slip this season and are currently looking for work.

Buffalo QB Vince Young: Young's release doesn't come as a surprise when you consider the acquisition of Seattle Seahawks Quarterback Tavaris Jackson earlier this week. Young's career was off to a good start until injuries plagued him left and right. After small, unsuccessful stints in Philadelphia and Buffalo, you have to wonder if Vince Young will ever be the same Vince Young who won Rookie Offensive Player of the Year.

San Diego Wide Receiver Roscoe Parrish: The injury to Vincent Brown makes you wonder why the Chargers let Parrish go. But when you look at his stats, you understand why the team released the wideout with only two catches this entire preseason. Parrish spent his first seven season in the league with the Buffalo Bills.

Seattle Wide Receiver Terrell Owens: After 16 seasons in the NFL, it's time for Terrell Owens to pack his bags. Owens had a legitimate chance to get his NFL career back on track. Owens was to unreliable with several drops in critical situations. Add to all of that the off-field baggage and you have the reason why Pete Carroll parted ways with Terrell Owens.

New Orleans Quarterback Luke McCown: The Saints broke the bank for Brees in the offseason. Chase Daniel is definitely cemented as the back-up which didn't bode well for McCown to begin with. Add on the fact that the Saints usually stick to two Quarterbacks on the roster, and you have one McCown brother who will have plenty of time to watch his brother.

New England Receivers Jabar Gaffney and Donte' Stallworth: The Patriots were set on the fab four in Wes Welker, Brandon Lloyd, Deion Branch, and Julian Edelman. Gaffney and Stallworth had a chance to take that fifth spot but neither one could breakout enough to prove worthy to Bill Belicheck. Gaffney was injured most of the preseason and Stallworth's off the field issues with his manslaughter charge wasn't worth the headaches to Bill Belicheck.

With more cuts looming at the end of this week, don't be surprised to see more veterans and former first round picks to get the pink slip and find themselves out of work.
