Found January 10, 2013 on NFL Injury Report:
It was reported yesterday that former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher had interest in potentially returning to the NFL in his former capacity sooner than later. However, Cowher won’t be coming back this offseason, and he may not return for another four or five years, according to Gerry Dulac of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. But that is not going to be this year, and may not be for another four of five years, according to a source close to the former Steelers coach. Several teams have reportedly reached out to Cowher in the last few weeks to see if he’d be interested in returning for the 2013 season. Of the teams in search of a new coach, the Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles could have been two of the teams to reach out to Cowher. While he wasn’t expected to return to coaching this offseason, four to five years is a bit longer than most thought he would wait if he was going to get back into it at all. He will be 60 years old by then, and one has to wonder if he’ll want to return to the grind that is coaching in the NFL at that age.
