New York Jets RB Shonn Greene is slated to hit the free agent market next month and seems to be generating some interest around the league. The NFL Network is reporting that Greene could be generating interest from the Denver Broncos and the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons are expected to release veteran running back Michael Turner due to his confiscatory salary cap number while the Broncos have stated that they are in the market for another running back.
I don’t know how much of an upgrade Greene would be at either location. He does not possess great blocking skills so he might not be the back the Broncos want with Peyton Manning under center.
Greene is younger than Turner but they have similar running styles. Greene lacks burst, evidenced by the fact that he has never had a run over 36 yards in his career.
