The Kansas City Chiefs placed the franchise tag on wide receiver Dwayne Bowe last season, but could they use the tag on the pending free agent once again this year under head coach Andy Reid? ESPN’s Adam Schefter speculated as much this morning while appearing on the network’s Sportcenter show. It has been speculated that Bowe is likely seeking a deal which rivals what Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson landed in free agency last season. Given his up and down behavior, the Chiefs might be reluctant to fork over that kind of money, but if they do tag him once again this season, the Chiefs will owe Bowe a reported $11 million. There is always the possibility of a holdout with Bowe as well. He has not suggested as much, but if he receiving the franchise tag once again this season, he could do exactly what Jackson did as a member of the San Diego Chargers and decide to sit out the first 10 games of the season, returning for the final six in order to gain another year of ...
