FootBasket:
It looks like the three-way quarterback battle in Seattle quickly has deteriorated into a two-man battle.NFL.com is reporting that Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll announced that incumbent starting quarterback Tarvaris Jackson will not see any time in this weekend’s preseason game.
Newly signed free agent Matt Flynn will get the work in the first half, with recently drafted Russell Wilson taking over in the second half and finishing the ballgame.
You have to feel sorry for Jackson, who was promised to not be jerked around again when he signed with Seattle last off-season.
The impressive play of the poised rookie Wilson has all but made Jackson expendable barring an injury. Wilson’s play has been so impressive that some are calling for him to get ample opportunity with the first-team offense.
Wilson was drafted to be the future and depending on how well Flynn does to start the season off, that future could come sooner than later.

The Seattle Seahawks are likely looking to trade quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, as Matt Flynn is cementing himself as the team’s starter, and while Russell Wilson appears more than capable of handling the back up role. Tarvaris Jackson might be on his way out of Seattle
Mark EvansA three-man quarterback competition seems a bit rare in the NFL, especially considering how many stud quarterbacks are in the league today.

These 6 guys are players who are looking to either impress the Seahawks enough to keep them or put enough solid performances on tape that some other team will be interested in giving them a chance.

Seahawks To Give QB Matt Flynn The Start Vs Broncos
Even though Pete Carroll insists the competition is ongoing, it is clear Matt Flynn is the leading contender to be the Seattle Seahawks' starting quarterback when the season begins. Final Public Practice – Observations
Notable Points
Judging from this practice alone, Matt Flynn is the clear-cut favorite to start in week 1 of the regular season. Flynn, as advertised, showed crispness in his mechanics and his accuracy was top-notch, (only 3 incompletions during the entire practice). He often checked down short passes rather than airing it out deep, but did flash his arm on several occasions as...
