Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker/defensive end Terrell Suggs is eyeing a realistic return for November as the veteran is currently rehabbing from his April surgery on his partially torn Achilles tendon. Suggs says he is looking to return in time for the team’s Oct. 21 game against the Houston Texans, though it may not be entirely possible.
With that, head coach John Harbaugh sees him returning the week after medical staff approves of him returning, which looks like it may be Oct. 21. He wants Suggs in hitting form in January, just in time for the playoffs.
The Ravens have their bye week on Oct. 28, which means Suggs will most likely get his 2012 season debut in November, which is likely on the 4th against the AFC North division rival Cleveland Browns.
Back in June, Suggs expected to see himself returning way earlier than November, saying that month would be the latest for him to make a comeback for the Ravens. He later retracted his statements knowing that a fast as a return like that doesn’t seem doable.
Suggs was the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year last season, leading his team with 14 sacks. Him returning gives the defense a huge boost as the Ravens look like legit title contenders for this season.
